The start of Sony's 'Days of Play' price promotions and improved hardware bundle offers have enabled 'FIFA 19' to shoot back to the top of the All Formats Chart this week. It is the first time it has been at No1 since the first week of the year, pushing last week's chart topper 'Blood & Truth' down to No5.

The 'Days of Play' event kicked off on Friday with PS4 exclusives 'Days Gone' and 'Marvel's Spider-Man' both benefiting. 'Days Gone' climbs two places to No2, while 'Marvel's Spider-Man' is boosted 12 places, up from No15 to No3.

Price drops on the PSVR Starter and Mega Packs means VR titles such as 'PlayStation VR Worlds' and 'Astro Bot Rescue Mission' etc. are back in the Top 40. The highest new entry this week is 'Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth' for 3DS at No18, followed by a debut at No20 for 'MotoGP 19'.

Astro Bot back to business o/

The promotion on Days Gone is not even that big but that's enough to get a nice push and carry on the h o l d. And boi, Spider-Man has sooo much more legs than Kratos, especially in the UK.

Sony doing pretty great thanks to this promotion. I wish I had enough money to get a PSVR, as it seems like it has a great line-up now and I'd love to try Wipeout in VR! (probably once and then never again thanks to the motion sickness).

To be fair, God of War has been out for a lot longer than Spider-Man, relatively speaking.

39% boots in sales for Days Gone
It's the first week EA's bestselling sports title has been UK No.1 since the first week of 2019, and comes off the back of an 18% week-on-week boost in sales.

FIFA 19 was also one of the titles included in some of the PlayStation 4 hardware bundles Sony has been pushing this week, so its return to No.1 may well coincide with a boost in PS4 sales.

The Days of Play campaign runs from June 7 to June 17, conveniently overlapping with E3 -- perhaps to keep the platform holder's wares prominent given the platform holder is absent from this year's event.

As a result, several PlayStation exclusive titles have secured a spot in the Top Ten -- four, in fact. Last week's No.1 Blood & Truth dropped to No.5, while Days Gone rose two places to No.2 with a 39% boost in sales.

Marvel's Spider-Man re-entered the Top Ten at No.3, up from No.15 with a 57% boost in sales. Finally, PlayStation VR Worlds almost tripled its sales week-on-week to take No.10

Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth marks the end of an era in Europe since it is the last retail portable console game ever.

Curiously it roughly sold on par with the previous entry, which was released over 4 years ago.

Days Gone with those legs. Also surprised to see VR Worlds and Astro Bot in there. Forza Horizon 4 still going strong too, in the UK at least.

It looks like a quiet week before Days of Play. Blood & Truth didn't have a great launch in Italy. In France it was number 3 in PS4 list, after Call of Duty and Days Gone.

So pleased that Days Gone has been performing so well, i was worried that the negative reviews would have hurt its sales but for a guy who spends most of his time on a bike, Deke sure does have some legs on him.

You'd be surprised by WipEout. It features lots of comfort settings. I was initially intimidated by playing it in VR but it's no problem at all. :)

5 of the 7 weeks at no.1 with the other 2 weeks at no.2

Look at all that Zombie fatigue lol

All jokes aside, Sony giving this game it's own release window and space to build it's audience is perhaps the most crucial decision they made outside of the games actual development. I'm really interested to see where the sales are right now. I mean, 7 weeks of selling well across Europe is one hell of a sales springboard in my humble opinion.

This list confirms GAME Spain May chart was wrong and they posted just PS4 chart instead of all platforms. Also, 2 of the games topping the top 3 spots are over 5 years old. No new releases such as Team Sonic Racing and Rage 2.

Last time we see a FIFA Switch game on the top 10.

Legacy edition is going to kill the franchise for Switch in Spain. Your turn Konami. :P

UK and Australia holds are good for TSR but the rest of Europe / Australasia, it seems the game is going to disappear from the top of the charts pretty quickly. Some regions like New Zealand and Italy where it placed somewhere in the top ten in its debut, it's fallen out of it completely in just its second week.

I've compiled the hardware numbers for Spain (thanks to El Manco, tolkir and others for writing them up every week! Link to the archive). Note that numbers started in week 7, and week 8 is missing. That said, here's the result:

Total for the year (note that not all weeks of the year are included!):
Switch = 67,700

XBO: 350

Week 10:
NSW: 3,200
PS4: 2,900
XBO: 390

Edit: Disregard. Next week (week 23) will be the start of Days of Play, so we should see a big boost for PS4.

Another 35% boost for Days Gone
The power of price promotions continues to shape the retail charts as PlayStation titles dominate the Top Ten.

Sony's Days of Play sale kicked off before E3, cutting the price on key first and third party sales, as well as hardware bundles. As a result FIFA 19 rose back to No.1 for the first time since January.

With the promotion running throughout the last week, FIFA 19 remains at the top of the charts, thanks in part to its inclusion in discounted PS4 hardware bundles. The footy title even saw a 53% boost in sales week-on-week, have already rose by 18% the previous week.

Meanwhile, Days Gone holds on to No.2 with a 35% lift in sales, while a 45% rise keeps Marvel's Spider-Man at No.3.

Elsewhere in the Top 10, PlayStation VR Worlds rose from No.10 to No.7 with a 56% sales boost, while a 8% dip in sales sees Blood & Truth drop to five places to replace it.

The highest placing non-PlayStation title is Forza Horizon 4, a re-entry into the Top 10 with an 88% rise in sales. This was no doubt driven by the release of the Lego Speed Champions expansion announced at Xbox's E3 press conference.

Other re-entries this week include Battlefield 6 at No.6 (sales up 65%), and Anthem at No.8 (up 81%). There were no new entries in the Top 40.

The idea that the 3DS is the last dedicated portable gaming device is genuinely depressing. The Switch is awesome, but I'll miss Nintendo having "big" and "little" games. It's the end of an era indeed.
