I loved Oblivion.

Back when I could stomach 15 fps, hell I didn't even know what fps was.
I loled at this more than I should have.

PC and monitor died. Guess I have to buy a new one ahead of schedule.
how'd they both die at once, that's bad luck. One of hard drives died recently but it was anything critical just some media and porn lol. It must be a sign. I did a pcb swap with bios swap and it's still won't be recognized by the pc even though it spins up fine.

I genuinely can't find anything good on amazon.de up to like 578 euros that's in stock right now.

Any recs would be appreciated.
I can't speak to the German market, but over here in the States there are a number of good 1440p/100Hz+ ultrawide FreeSync (and even a couple GSYNC) monitors for right around what would be 600 euros, so unless the monitor market over there is just significantly more expensive, definitely keep looking! I'd give some model numbers, but I think they're usually different when they cross the pond haha.

Looking for organization suggestions. If you you had a 1T M.2 SSD and a 1T Sata SSD, how would you divide up your hard drives? Games on the M.2? What about the OS? I'm thinking about doing a clean Windows install.

OS and a lot of the program installations on the M.2. Bigger open world games on the M.2, everything else on the SSD. But when all of your storage is flash memory, it's not gonna matter too much.

As long as your OS and frequently-used applications are on the M.2 drive, then it doesn't particularly matter that much where the games go. If you look at load time comparisons, M.2 drives only save you a second or two in most games compared to traditional SSDs.

My mobo shorted out and my usb controller died and today my monitor died, the monitor power supply and brick works but the panel inside and capacitors blew.

If your PC and monitor died simultaneously I might recommend you invest in a UPS first.

Already bought and also changed my whole wall plug.

I'm looking at the LG 27GL850 for now.

I'll eventually defraud the country and by that upcoming 3.6k monitor and write it off as a biz expense.

The fact that you had to talk to people for directions and look at road signs to figure out where you were going in morrowind...that was so cool. I would kill for a modern game like that.

Incredible player increase for Synthetik, which is an addictive roguelite with 2 player online co-op to boot. One of my favorite games that I only recently discovered.

I really liked Synthetik, i rarely see it mentioned here. What was added to the game that made it have such a player increase?

That poltard Sseth made a video on it, that's why.

Oh, never heard of him.

The clusterfuck around Reforged has me hovering over the "buy" button for a WarCraft III Battlechest on Amazon.

I played the game back in the days, but unlike StarCraft, I don't have the disks for it. I feel like I should, given how Blizz is trying to erase the 2002 game out of existence.

Best do it now before prices start to soar when more and more people realize you can no longer play the Battle.net version.

Yeah, I pulled the trigger. I don't want to use it to speculate on the prices, but WarCraft III, StarCraft and Diablo II are the 3 big Blizz games that single-handedly molded my gaming preferences for better part of a decade. And apparently I can't trust the devs to keep them going in the digital age, so I gotta get physical backups.

It's a pretty fucking pathetic state of affairs where Blizzard fans have to essentially save these games from the developers themselves. It's sad to see the poison of Activision finally fully taking hold of Blizz.

From what Nome posted regarding HOTS, Blizzard did good enough poisoning itself.

Bigger teams than Riot had, spending like crazy and not getting anything done because of hubris.

When will Blizzard write a good story again T_T

I downloaded and logged into GTA5 online today to get my free million dollars. Turns out it takes up to 72 hours to deliver after logging in. Lame. At least I won 50k at the casino. Now I have 60k dollars in the game lol (I need the mil!)

Does StarCraft 2 ever goes on sale on Battlenet?

I already have the Terran and Zerg games but still missing the Protos stuff and I've been thinking about playing through the campaign again lately.

I'm in the same boat. So fucking annoying.
For anyone who doesn't know, they've removed the option to buy the Protoss campaign by itself, and the only way to get it now is to get all of them at once in the "campaign collection" for 40 euro.

But as I was typing this I noticed that it is indeed on sale right now, if you log in! "Only" 30 euro :)

Ah thanks I will take a look and yeah, it's super confusing now!

I believe you can actually buy the protoss campaign alone but must do it from in game.

Hey, I've never played Warcraft 3 and it looks like a neat new remastered version just came out.

The campaign is pretty much the same as the original. The multiplayer however......

Well most of the disappointment came from veterans so if you are new to Warcraft 3 it'll be good.

This is the second time I've had Blizz patch a game to remove the ability to play single-layer offlline.

The first one was Wings of Liberty. Bought it on release date in the summer, played through it, then started school in Sept, didn't touch any game for over 2 months. Went to boot it up in November, spent about an hour downloading patches, and in the end, Battle.net told me I can only play offline on my non-gaming laptop with crappy wi-fi as "guest". My offline account that I made a few months earlier and never used online, was now unavailable.

My love for Blizzard died that day. later stuff like Diablo 3 Always online RMAH only cemented that feeling.

All right PC Era, I finally have my first gaming laptop with me, and have a few questions

1) With a 2060 installed, my laptop has been able to max out every game I've thrown at it so far while holding frames well above 60. As nice as they look, there does seems to be a slight yet noticeable "blurriness" to the image.

Is this simply a case of me not seeing a 1080p screen for a while, or is there some setting I'm missing? I was rolling with a 1440p monitor on my old desktop that I gave to my bro, and I use an Xbone X on a 4K screen for console games.

Maybe my have to readjust to 1080p.

2) What settings should I be using on the Nvidia Control Panel? I'm still not sure if I should enable v-sync through here, or in game.

3) Is it a problem I leave the laptop running overnight to download games?

1) That's you going back to 1080p. I have a 1440p monitor, and whenever I see a 1080p screen, I think it looks really blurry.
2) I just run settings in the game.
3) Not a problem.

Just in case try plugging it to your TV and see if the blurriness remains, if that's the case then the problem is on graphic settings. Most common case of blurred image on PC displays is related to resolution scaling.

Started on AC3

So weird playing a AC game so many years later.

Last AC game I played was Revelations and that was like 3+ years ago.

OK, so I took the time to install SC2 again, and omg, you're right - It's indeed cheaper from the in-game shop. Thank you!
Would have been nice if Blizz told us on the official store page. It almost feels like they left it out on purpose to sell more "campaign collections".

Playing Mirror's Edge Catalyst now; I think this game has gone wrong at three points.

1. Too much focus on combat. It's weird and janky and requires you use up your upgrade points. I didn't much care for the combat in the first game, and I don't think many others did either, and they apparently decided to double down for... reasons???

2. Why are basic functions like 180 jumping hidden in the upgrade tree? That whole thing feels really unnecessary. Things you should be learning and using throughout the game get introduced later so you're not as proficient at them as you should be.

3. The open world structure is detrimental. Running around just to start missions is pointless busywork, and the missions don't feel as tightly designed as they were in the original.

Open world was good idea but execution could be better. Being able to choose your path to destination is great but unfortunately you can't actually choose your own path because there are choke points that you must go to. Also custom Time Trials is great but again open world is limiting it because it wasn't designed that well.

I liked the combat in Catalyst. Unlike the first game where engaging enemies mostly slowed you down, it flows so much better here. Though there really wasn't a need for all the combat arenas, for sure.
