First thing I thought of was to separate the 2 stores was pleasantly surprised to see so many others with the same thinking.
Company promises things for over a decade and doesn't deliver
>instantly trusts them because one guy got a promotion
Lmao ok bud
He has told us about fixing the store for a long time.
I simp,y don't trust MS when it comes to PC gaming.
It is always the same apologists getting angry because we are tired of the same responses from MS. Dont hate us, hate the ones that are doing nothing.
I've made priorities for you.. mainstream first, core pc crowd after. And fixing it seems to be less a priority for you than defending your pc gaming vision. So, here's my list. ;)
- Create a separate store in the Xbox app (and redesign that bloody thing).
- Get rid of the limitations UWP currently offers with overlays, game detection, third party programs, etc. (If you can't fix UWP.. then maybe UWP isn't the solution)
- Decent discounts that aren't behind the Xbox Live Gold Paywall
- Launch Xbox GamePass on PC with a good variety of titles
- Universal controller support
- Generating game keys, agree
- Add modding
- Full file access
- DRM free games
That would be my priority list from top to bottom.
If Age of Empires 4 can launch in an ecosystem like that, that actually works. I could see their pc gaming plans actually come to fruition.
This is clearly a different leadership team who has actually got things done. Besides, some of the posters in here aren't fooling anyone.
Surely you see the difference here, surely? Or are you going to act like you don't, for the sake of winning an argument?
What do you mean with they have the possibility to be the biggest PC gaming publisher on the planet?
More hollow promises regarding PC gaming. Really fed up with lip service from Microsoft, and I just wish they'd follow through on what they claim they're committed to doing.
It seems crazy to me that this store has been available in one form or another since 2012 - built into the OS and intended to be the default way of acquiring software on Windows - and it's still a complete shit show six years later.
If it gets better, cool. If it doesn't then that's fine too, I'll just use it only for Xbox exclusives that I want. It has worked for me in that capacity so far so I am not too concerned. It's not our only gateway to games on pc.
Eerily similar to the copy+pasted assurances that we get from MS that they're listening and will fix PC gaming. And it's always the same people coming in here, copy pasting the same tired old ass argument without looking at the context.
Man who promises things delivers things
> doesnt trust said man
Literally zero logic, just repeating unoriginal vitriol
ex:
Literally not a time in history Phil has said anything like this before. Yet this is "another", "hollow" promise.
This is clearly a different leadership team who has actually got things done. Besides, some of the posters in here aren't fooling anyone. Def. going to be a lot of crow served. You think people would learn their lesson in regards to Phil.
With Microsoft buying more and more studios it will become more important.
I hope they deliver this time.
Not an incremental change though, they need a huge change in terms of storefront.
Putting Xbox games into the Xbox app instead of Windows Store would be a start.
Again, context, go and look at Phils interviews regarding first party studios, console power, services, etc."Microsoft promises to improve the Windows Store" PCGamer, February 29, 2016
"Phil Spencer interview: 'We have work to go do' on improving the Windows Store, UWP" PCGamer, June 13, 2017
because it's still just talk and they've said "it's different this time" maybe 20 times now?Again, context, go and look at Phils interviews regarding first party studios, console power, services, etc.
This is different. He is actively in a role where the store is his priority. I really don't know why I have to explain why its different this time to so many people.

Okay, then until it shows, I have no need to trust MS. When they have fixed my problems with PC gaming, with their store, then I can start trusting them.
I don't trust someone unless their actions shows they can be trusted. So far, MS actions in regards to PC gaming has not shown them worthy of trust. However, if Phil and MS fixes the problems with the store, of course I can start trusting them.
It's words against actions. So far, it's been words. I need to see action.
They've never said what Phil has said last night, not even once.because it's still just talk and they've said "it's different this time" maybe 20 times now?
i don't know why anyone is willing to give them the benefit of the doubt
I know that's where we disagree. He needs to fix ALL the issues on my list, including file access.
What I described isn't MY personal vision on PC gaming. It's how PC gaming has always been.
All these things I've listed aren't an issue in EVERY other game store on PC.
Dude, theres literally no point in talking to you. You're just repeating the same thing over and over again lol, I told you why Phil is trustworthy, and why the context is different. I'm not wasting any more time, you're mind is already made up anyways.
if your point is that no one has ever uttered those precise words, sure. They've never said what Phil has said last night, not even once.
Don t make windows10 mandatory is a good start.
I couln'd buy their games event if i Wanted to do so
Always funny to see an Xbox fan so concerned about whether PC gamers buy in to their PR.Dude, theres literally no point in talking to you. It'll have more meaning when changes are actually implemented. Until then it's more PR spinning of wheels.
Their reputation in this area greatly precedes them.
Always funny to see an Xbox fan so concerned about whether PC gamers buy in to their PR.
If it happens, great! I'd love to see what a committed MS could bring to the PC gaming space.
Their history does not instill trust that they will do what they say, even with blessed Phil Who Can Do No Wrong at the head. Don't know why it's so important to you that we all believe and Wait For ///Build/// without airing our well-earned doubts.
Again, context, go and look at Phils interviews regarding first party studios, console power, services, etc.

¿?Might be the most obtuse, narrow-minded post I've read in quite a while. Congratulations.
