The pokeblock minigame is still there, it was just simplyfied so you can also do it alone, rather than requiring multiple people.
It definitely contributed, how much it did is up in the no one knows for sure though. I think GF going to yellow is def a sign they think it played a decent size role in Go's success.
I hope all 807 Pokemon and their forms are aviable in the game. Even if it is just post game. But I hope as well they make another short VCG format. And I wouldn't mind if it is Kanto dex only Pokemon, but maybe that's too short though. I repeat what I already said before:
- VGC is 2v2, not 1v1.
- Special stat is now splitted.
- Pokemon now have abilities, natures, new moves and can hold items. And maybe there are new abilities, moves and items in these games.
- There may also be some new mechanics, as there were with Mega Evolutions and Z Moves.
- TONS of mechanics changed a lot from gen 1 to gen 7. The 1/256 miss, the speed crits, etc.
And these are only a few points. If the leak is real I would hate no more than 151 mons on the game. But from the VGC format I wouldn't mind. It is also another incentive to returning players to try VGC with the Pokemon they are familiar with.

Agreed. They have such solid ideas that work out so well that are completely gone the next game. Really hope they incorporate a lot of great features the remakes had in future games. But Gamefreak doing something like that is probably never going to happen
Nah, I was never one of those people who complained about horns and the sounds, but then again I'm the only one who thinks the RSE Champion theme (vs Steven) is the best one so *shrugs*
I think the n64 games were 60$ potentially might have been higher than that from memory
And the GameCube games
15 years ago is when there were more of the playerbase had played generatiom 1 and only generation 1. It's when your argument would have been the strongest. And is far more relevant than your 'free pokemon game that doesn't require purchasing new hardware was played by a lot of people' nonsense.
They gave me a reason to fly around with my latias, so they are good in my book.

Gen 3 are my favorite games and ORAS ruining the soundtrack, adding in dumb garbage, toning down the difficulty, redesigning Mauville, skipping Frontier, really made me dislike the game. Emerald far superior

Now how would someone feel if the instruments that invoked a Japanese influence in this song were replaced with synths for a HGSS remake? That's the equivalent of what ORAS did to RSE's brass with its remake music.

I have no problems with a Yellow remake. I like Kanto just as much as anyone else. Locking it to the OG 151 though is my issue

I think that leak means the region will only have Kanto Pokémon, not a mix of old and new. New evos should still be there, I don't see them blocking those off.
I don't think gen 1 has anything to do with the game success. It's a free Pokemon game on mobile. Simple.
It really wasn;t hard to balance things back then. Less than five minutes of thought would have told them that making Gengar part poison was a terrible idea and having special attack and special defense being a single sat was a terrible idea.
You're saying that like it's the first free Pokémon game on mobile.
Yeah no, we'll have to disagree here, Pokémon was at its strongest when GO released, and numbers only prove what I'm saying, you can deny that and pretend that "it doesn't count because it wasn't a real game sold at full price", but the facts are the facts.

I'll stop here with my posts, the mood is getting kinda toxic here and it will keep being worse until the actual reveal happen when, as it always is with every heavily anticipated Nintendo reveal, most fears will be appeased. Until then I'm out of this thread unless something big happens again.
If you modify the balance so that the first 151 Pokémon are balanced with each other, you destroy the balance when they return to the fold.
Unless then you change them again. Which is absurd.
As someone who doesn't find the original G/S all that fun to play through OR/AS wins out for me just for that reason. The Kanto part of the game is barely anything and the Battle Frontier is just copy/pasted from Platinum.
They're so bad that I have trouble believing anyone likes them, barring it being their first mainline game or them just loving France for whatever reason.
