The Pokéblocks minigame, and the Battle Frontier from Emerald.
Emerald=/=Ruby/Saphire
The pokeblock minigame is still there, it was just simplyfied so you can also do it alone, rather than requiring multiple people.

True but what you're insinuating is that GO pulled in so many users and brought back older players because is started with just the OG 151, not the fact that it was a Pokemon that cost everyone literally nothing to play. Of course it got 70+ million people to play it. The OG 151 aren't selling a $300 system.
Remakes are always really great at adding amazing features that GameFreak promptly erases from existence ASAP. The thing that made me buy Leaf Green for example was how the Pokedex let you search for Pokemon based on the biome they inhabit, which went a long way in making them feel like real creatures.
Nah, I was never one of those people who complained about horns and the sounds, but then again I'm the only one who thinks the RSE Champion theme (vs Steven) is the best one so *shrugs*
I think the n64 games were 60$ potentially might have been higher than that from memory
15 years ago is when there were more of the playerbase had played generatiom 1 and only generation 1. It's when your argument would have been the strongest. And is far more relevant than your 'free pokemon game that doesn't require purchasing new hardware was played by a lot of people' nonsense....which practical example ? Fire Red vs RSE ? You're talking about a situation from 15 years ago. In the meantime here, Pokémon GO happened.
Someone try to defend the mirage spots and say they're good. I double dog dare you.
Meant to say mainlineI think the n64 games were 60$ potentially might have been higher than that from memory

And the GameCube games
I did not notice before that this is the area on route 21 just below pallet town. The shape of the island matches and the two boulders underneath from FireRed/LeafGreen
Include XY and then you have a better take.
That's a damn good meme, fam
Nah, region is hot garbage
lol at the notion that the OG 151 pokemon are balanced.
It definitely contributed, how much it did is up in the no one knows for sure though. I think GF going to yellow is def a sign they think it played a decent size role in Go's success.
Seriously
Why would you buy both?
Oh it will be $60 unless TPCi hates moneyyou guys are complaining about a price that hasn't even been announced yet.
I do think that part (not the biggest part ofc, but definitely a part)of GO's initial success is that it bet a lot on Gen 1's nostalgia. Also, Pokémon is selling systems, no matter the content.
It really wasn;t hard to balance things back then. Less than five minutes of thought would have told them that making Gengar part poison was a terrible idea and having special attack and special defense being a single sat was a terrible idea.Obviously because it's the first pokemon game. Kinda hard to balance stuff in that time period. They could fine tune it now.
they surely never did this with kanto pkmns.I think that leak means the region will only have Kanto Pokémon, not a mix of old and new. New evos should still be there, I don't see them blocking those off.
I don't think gen 1 has anything to do with the game success. It's a free Pokemon game on mobile. Simple.

As someone who doesn't find the original G/S all that fun to play through OR/AS wins out for me just for that reason. The Kanto part of the game is barely anything and the Battle Frontier is just copy/pasted from Platinum. How? HGSS packed in so much content on top of giving a revamped Johto-Kanto journey. It's not without it's problems, but objectively, ORAS doesn't come close to the amount of content that you get in HGSS. Even worse when you consider how much GF ignored Gen III's features when developing ORAS.
They're so bad that I have trouble believing anyone likes them, barring it being their first mainline game or them just loving France for whatever reason.
