It didn't. It came from this.
"A year or more" translates to "2018 or later" in book speak.
To be fair he says "more than a year" not "a year or more", which only means TBA.

More than a year is just vague talk. Obviously it wasn't going to come out at e3 this year. It could mean any time though. He just wanted to say that they were definitely working on it and somewhat far in.To be fair he says "more than a year" not "a year or more", which only means TBA.

TBA means there wasn't a date announced at all. In Pokemon's case there was.To be fair he says "more than a year" not "a year or more", which only means TBA.
2018 or later means it come in 2018 or later, which may as well be tba.TBA means there wasn't a date announced at all. In Pokemon's case there was.

I've been looking around a bit and honestly can't find where the "2018 or later" talk came from. Seems that it just originated from an earnings release rather than the initial announcement, which is strange.
For the purposes of this game, I think it's safe to say 2018+ can be read as FY2018, though 2018 being more of a goal than a hard date.Is it realistic to say the game could be releasing early 2019? It would fit the releasing during the current fiscal year scenario
It will release early 2019 as a last resort if can't physically release it before. Releasing Pokémon in Feb/march is not really a wise choice since kids will not be able to ask for presents right after Christmas so easily. Is it realistic to say the game could be releasing early 2019? with the legs on Pokemon, does it really matter? the games have a pretty steady sales trend, so potential buyers do end up with the game eventuallyIt will release early 2019 as a last resort if can't physically release it before. IT'S A WHOLE NEW WAY TO SEE
Battle Dimension and Galacting Battles songs from DP are amazingI wish the youtube channel would post the Japanese openings, not the dub ones. All the dub openings after the 4kids era were dire.
Meanwhile the Japanese openings are consistently excellent.
100 million software sales, not Switch units. The Switch forecast for the current fiscal year is 20 million units.

I honestly like the first BW dub opening, it's kind of catchy and goes good with the visuals. The xy dub openings were honestly really not good though. Especially compared to how good the japanese ones were.I wish the youtube channel would post the Japanese openings, not the dub ones. All the dub openings after the 4kids era were dire.

And this is my entire point, and why it was fairly reasonable to expect some new information in this earnings release.
It's semantics, but semantics that have certain connotations/implications. "2018 or later" implies that the target is 2018. Saying the game may not release "for more than a year" does not imply that 2018 is the target. Therefore that earnings release gave us new info.

Not in the anime, lmao.
Megas are too OP, but lets give ash an exclusive equivalent to it, that is even stronger somehow! And the regional dragon! And another dragon! AND THE STRONGEST BRAVEST FUCKING BIRD.
I've never touched Charizard line again after that episode.Megas are too OP, but lets give ash an exclusive equivalent to it, that is even stronger somehow! And the regional dragon! And another dragon! AND THE STRONGEST BRAVEST FUCKING BIRD.
*loses the league finals to Mega Charizard X*
It was so stupid.Megas are too OP, but lets give ash an exclusive equivalent to it, that is even stronger somehow! And the regional dragon! And another dragon! AND THE STRONGEST BRAVEST FUCKING BIRD.

Dont do that mate.
Nope. Let's not mislead folks who might view this as some kind of insider information.
Ah! My mistake! Read it quickly while I just woke up. Thanks for setting me straight :)
A region based on an African country would be perfection.
So the next region might be African? That would be cool. I would love an ancient Egyptian part with pyramids and stuff, or Savanna style landscapes.
Johto and Hoenn had the best opening theme songs.I find it interesting that the Johto opening have the most views
They getting ready to go back to Kanto.Hm, interesting enough the anime is up to the third Kahuna Nanu soon and Acerola is finally debuting. The SM anime's current pacing definitely seems on track to end by November. Granted they can always include filler, but right now it doesn't seem like it.

Holy shit
Johto and Hoenn had the best opening theme songs.
Diamond and Pearl and then on were pretty mediocre with only one or two okay ones.
if anything, I'm shocked at the lack of coordination between TPCi and the anime staff. for an IP as global as pokemon, with a cartoon that airs in so many countries, you'd think they would make the anime in a way that there's little edits and delay between episodes and airing everywhereThat's only because 4kids stopped dubbing the anime by then. As I said, the Japanese openings are consistently good. The DP and XY openings are great in Japan.
