So I've been hearing and witnessing a lot of complaint about keyboard and mouse on console lately. Has this been a big issue and is it or should it be allowed considering the majority are at a disadvantage with just a controller. What can be done to stop this if it is?
I'm finally realizing a lot of those times I get destroyed is from keyboard and mouse users who spam crouch+lean.

Something like a XIM9 is impossible to detect too, so i think it´s more about just officially supporting all mice and keyboards.
So like a PC, it´s your choice to play with a mouse or a gamepad based on your hardcoredness-level :D

I had Rainbow Six standard via Uplay recently (came with Y3 Operators I believe). I got the Deluxe through steam to get the Y1 and 2 Operators. (I couldn't get Uplay to let me upgrade). Do I delete the Uplay version and just run the steam version.

It's basically ranked without the risk of losing your current rank. Personally I don't like it and stick with quick match. In quick match, if people leave (which they will), they usually get replaced. In unranked, I have yet to see people late join in the matches where people quit.

I have had the opposite experience with unranked. Yes, some matches are taken seriously, but people will still quit in unranked. Not only do you have to slog through a longer game with an unbalanced match, but the rage quitters won't rejoin the game. I like the quicker pace of quick match and being able to play with all the operators since none of them are banned.

I almost never see people leave in unranked, since it gives you abandonment penalties just like ranked.

2: I'd say a lot of it depends on if you like roaming around or anchoring the site.

I'd say go for Mira between those. She's a great op. You have a side arm shotty to use for making holes to rotate through. Her ability is really powerful. You should reinforce a main wall, place her trap and leave the wall next to it unreinforced. This will allow you to shoot people through the wall that you see in her window.

I personally really like maestro but I think he requires a little bit more map knowledge and understanding to really play effectively. His cameras are really useful for either stopping plants or used off site to shoot off thermite and hibana charges to stop the breach.

I'm new to this game too and had a hilarious situation earlier where I was basically dancing around him up and down some stairs, blasting him with the hammer guys shotgun. He was just taking the hits and eventually killed me. Bet he thought I was a right idiot.

I got Mira. I have to admit I'm still not very good with her, but this game is the kind that even when you lose you sometimes learn something. Example: today I was playing in Oregon and put the Black Mirror on a soft wall, the kind bullets go through, a guy got an incredible piercing kill using the mirror to locate the enemy. Before I always placed the mirrors on reinforced walls.

When I started this game shield ops were the bane of my existence. Then I became a Smoke main.

Even when not playing Smoke, I've found Blitz pretty easy to 1v1. Either he is moving and his feet are vulnerable, or he's trying to melee/shoot you and his head and shoulders are vulnerable. I can't promise you will get there soon, but eventually you'll stop panicking whenever you see one running at you and be able to make quick judgment calls that lead to you winning those encounters.

The grenades you get as a defender (impacts) do 50ish dmg to operators, but honestly I wouldn't say that's a viable way to deal with shield ops most of the time. Nitros are much more useful if you can yeet them far enough over the shield. Either they'll do enough damage to the op to kill/down it, or cause him to spin enough to expose a squishy bit for you to shoot.

Got to finally get back into it today... sad that I forgot how good this game is!

Was funny though, despite hours and hours with Overwatch/COD, got my first hate mail in years, not even 3 full games in! Lol just "trash", and got it on the oddest game (we lost 3-2, but despite being gone for months, not knowing the map/operator, I was leading the team).

The most common way is to reinforce one with her window and leave next to it soft to shoot through. Her gun isnt the easiest to use so you have to get used to controlling it and using her window and the soft wall to line up your shot before firing.

Thank you but I think I'm putting her apart for the moment. Maybe she works in a coordinated team and not with randoms. I even tried opening holes like in your vid but when enemies see them they expect me. The last drop was when I got killed through a broken mirror destroyed by one of my teammates. Breaking the rule one attacker-one defender and working on Maestro now.

Mira is a headshot machine thanks to the vector's small clip and ridiculous fast RPM (and w/ the damage reduction of an already weak gun when you're shooting thru soft walls, you'll need to aim for the head). Requires good map knowledge and some creativity/improvisation to know some go-to angles to anchor with her. Some sites have very powerful default Mira locations, but it's very rare that you have a site where a mirror can't give your team at least some utility. And probably goes without saying but you should almost never break her mirror -- any time you get intel where the opposing team can't is incredibly powerful.

Maestro similar to Mira in a lot of ways w/ his evil eye set up. A+ plant denial, good intel, another ridiculous main weapon, shotgun sidearm. Very powerful anchor. Hardest part will be finding a safe place where you can be on your evil eyes without being exposed. For evil eyes, place them at high locations and point them upwards whenever you think they're about to be destroyed/EMP'd/Twitch drone'd and attackers can't shoot them.

It's happening to me a lot. I started playing last year and I felt like the match ups were pretty good. I started again this year (lvl 52) currently and am constantly getting crushed with an occasional MVP. I think it might be a lot more veterans than new players playing at the moment.

Been playing this all evening for the first time (PC) and I really like it. Newcomer Q is a joke, though. Every other game at least is an experienced player mowing down the entire team... I met a few chill teams and had some great games, but the toxicity is pretty high at times. Still not sure if I want to keep voice chat on or not...does this get any better in ranked?

I really like Ash right now. Straight forward skills and her AR feels great. Doc is my favourite for defense, I pulled off a couple of self-heal clutch wins that felt amazing. I was told that map knowledge was key, so I really paid attention to the layout and it's so damn fun flanking attacking players. Are there any specific defenders who are good for this?

I have Ash, Thermite, Doc, and Rook. I have enough for one more 1k operator. Who would you recommend I go for next, or any advice for where I am?

Seems like a great game so far, cheers!

Doc and Rook are both 1-speed operators so if you like roaming around the map on defense grab a 3-speed defender. Can't go wrong with Jager.

Newcomer is hit and miss, right now the game was JUST on sale so people have smurf accounts and levelling in newcomer isn't uncommon. Ranked is definitely better in the sense that it has actual penalties and it'll be you playing vs similarly ranked people instead of just smurf alt accounts, but it can always be toxic, just depends on who you're with. The new ping system should alleviate the pain of muting people at least.

As far as ops, yeah Jager is a good choice, or bandit. In general if you want to roam the map, all of the 3 speeds are for that. So, base game: Pulse, Jager, Bandit. For DLC ops roamers are Caveira, Vigil, Ela, Mozzie, Alibi

I'd recommend getting all the base ops before the DLC ops as a new player - the dlc ops are way more expensive anyway, and the base ops give you a lot of options that are all still very good. Then you can hone in more on what playstyle you want short term as well as learning what the other ops do a bit from playing against/with them.

If you are looking for specific flanking ops, I would highly recommend anyone that is 3 speed. Jäger is always an amazing choice. Hes fast, got an amazing AR, universally versatile gadget, and overall a really fun operator to play.

Just popping in after posting on the general forums about my love for R6|S. I mainly play as Nokk and Mozzie but I'm sure they are not popular but I love taking over drones and Nokks shotgun is a riot to shoot.
I'm not very good but I have fun. Today after playing for over 80 hours in a years time and playing a majority of that in the last few weeks had a really good game and almost got MVP

when I finally finished my 10 matches to qualify in ranked it put me at Bronze II but after losing and being terrible I'm now Coooer V. Oh well

today's match we were down 1 v 4. I held tight in a bunker but took the final guys out. What a rush! I hope I can get better because I know I suck

Still better than me. Started yesterday the 10 matches to qualify after 80 hours of play and got copper V. Now I'm Bronze IV but I suck so badly in ranked it's unbelievable.

Btw you were right about Mira, Vector is an amazing fast weapon that land headshots like nothing, plus I got so accustomed to Mirrors to the point it feels strange playing without them. Mira makes Maestro look bad, and maybe he is.

It's happening to me a lot. I started playing last year and I felt like the match ups were pretty good. I started again this year (lvl 52) currently and am constantly getting crushed with an occasional MVP. I think it might be a lot more veterans than new players playing at the moment.

Funny, Ive been dabbling back in since my hiatus all the way back to launch, and HAD been having pretty solid matches, but yesterday...

It happens in every online game, so its whatever, but I was either on a team of single new players playing well coordinated teams or coming in late to a short handed squad getting lit. Made for an evening of very unfun games.

Did have one of my favorite moments trying out Maverick for the first time. Flanked the other team, made a hole in a reinforced wall, and 4 of the remaining operators backs are all facing me! :)

It turns out I lied. I thought this was the case but ranked MMR doesn't have an effect on casual. They do manipulate it somehow though. Apparently it has its own MMR ranking thats hidden from the player and it's more relaxed than ranked. Sorry about this.

If you want more equal matches Ranked is definitely the way to go though. Sorry.

Yep, matchmaking in any good game has MMR for every mode, it's just more or less lax depending on what you're playing. Solo ranked grind is almost never recommended but it can certainly be done. Just know that anything below gold is a complete shitshow and you will have to drag your teammates kicking and screaming to victories, otherwise yes, in theory, the other team is just as bad, but it just means you're relying on RNG since you'll have a 50/50 winrate.
