Which is wonderful because it means that there would not be a Pokemon game next holiday.duh. it's their big holiday 2020 title. there's no need for a fake leaker to say it and then take credit when it inevitably happens.

Nothing more classic than zelda 1 design
Yeah.Pretty sure we knew this was the internal target ever since king zell talked about it.
No we shouldn't and I love BoTW. I want to see a classic Zelda built from the ground up in HD.
praise arceus. they should take a year off.Which is wonderful because it means that there would not be a Pokemon game next holiday.
Because new person. We really need to stop using these Gamestop database leaks as proof it exists. Their almost beyond useless.Zell said that almost a year ago so I don't know why it's news now?
right? i'm confused, what did i miss that makes Sabi a joke?
that being said i thought 2020 was already officially announced but maybe i just lumped it in with xenoblade remaster
This.Pretty sure we knew this was the internal target ever since king zell talked about it.
Making a gigantic overworld every time is not feasible, especially as game development time and costs increase constantly. Zelda would go to 1 game every decade at that point.Absolutely not, Breath of the Wild is the future of the series, and we should welcome it.
Yup...go ahead and get yourselves hyped up for no reason, then when it doesn't happen, you blame Nintendo for something the never promised.

And also narrative focused Zelda's deserve to still have a spotlight.
Yeah, this.Absolutely not, Breath of the Wild is the future of the series, and we should welcome it.
"narrative focused Zelda" has never really been a thing though...
I dont see how it means that, last year we had Pokemon+Smash+Mario Party and this year Pokemon+Luigi's Mansion+Ring Fit.Which is wonderful because it means that there would not be a Pokemon game next holiday.
It makes sense for them to release a big game late 2020 but I doubt another Zelda is going to draw in a lot of people that aren't already on board with the Switch.but a late 2020 release date for the game makes total sense, as Nintendo will presumably want a big game to be able to keep some of the spotlight on themselves in the midst of the PS5/Scarlet launches.
Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword both focused on a more narrative and/or character driven adventure. Quality is subjective, but IMO in TP's case, the art, atmosphere, characters, and plot(until ganon shows up in the present) were all leagues above BotW. Zant, Midna, Thelma, Malo, and even weirdoes like Ooccoo were some of the best designs in the series(or most memorable) Compared to... Kass, and 4 dead flashbacks with like at most 10 lines each."narrative focused Zelda" has never really been a thing though...

The core of Zelda 1 was an "open" overworld with dungeons containing items and areas you could only access with those items. And no handholding. BOTW also removed handholding(very good choice). The other stuff was Nintendo PR that people accepted or pretended to be true. It's very close to the very first Legend of Zelda, it's totally a classic Zelda imo
Yaaaas
Must be because Bayonetta 3 and Metroid Prime 4 aren't releasing anytime soon
it's closer to 4 (early 2017 to late 2020). maybe even more considering botw probably wrapped up sooner and was kept to launch alongside switch.Three years for a sequel that's heavily reusing the foundation of the last game is reasonable.
True. Even more reasonable then.it's closer to 4 (early 2017 to late 2020). maybe even more considering botw probably wrapped up sooner and was kept to launch alongside switch.
The fact that it's still the plan after all this time inspires confidence that it'll actually happenZell said that almost a year ago so I don't know why it's news now?
Not to defend Sabi... But I don't know if Zell's track record is any better. Zell has press contact, but that seems to be it. All of his accurate leaks are days before a direct. He's got a lot of mistakes... Tomb Raider, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Pikmin 3, Monster Hunter. He walked back a Mario Maker prediction that would have been correct. He also knew about Cadence of Hyrule, but didn't know about Link's Awakening... claiming he knew nothing about any ports or remasters.Zell is a much more reliable leaker who said the same thing before the game was even announced.
He also called a 2D Zelda in 2019 before it was announced at the same time.
