I love indies so this is great news. Games like Kena, Little Devil Inside, Bugsnax, Stray and Solar Ash were stand out games at the PS5 event.

I'm happy to see a dedicated and renewed focus on indies from Sony. I felt like they've been weak in that area for a while. Shu is perfect for the job!

Googled Where The Heart Is to find out more and everything I can find is for another game with the same name that is a 'choice-based Adult Visual Novel' where you seduce friends of your dead mother and their daughters.

Yikes.

I want to play Maquette right now.Any idea of timing? I didn't see it mentioned in the blog post.
As the trailer says PS5 and PS4 I would guess its at or after the PS5 launch. FIST mentioned coming soon to PS4.

Thas awesome news. I subbed for a whole year. So I hope they actually improve NOW with better selections as the months go bye.
I think all PS4 first party games will be permanently added to PS Now after the PS5 launches. Maybe excluding LOU2 and Ghosts till a later date.

The really should have done some SEO work before deciding on the title.

It wasn't announced as coming to PlayStation before today.
These are 'new to PlayStation' Indies. I think all of them so far were already announced.
Ah right that makes sense. Yeah it's my favourite genre so I was all over this when it was announced.

I was hoping the Yoshida initiative would be working in partnership with indies on some original projects, rather than porting stuff already in the works for PC. Maybe that's still to come.

This part is interesting. I wonder if that means we get 4 games instead of 3 every month, where one of them is a new indie that launches in the service as well as for sale on PS4/PS5.
That's what I thought until they mentioned Hello Neighbour. Was hoping it would be like ID@Xbox Game Pass where the indie games debut on the service, but with some of these indie games debuting on Now day one.

I'd say it's different in that with the PS5 they themselves are more than ready for the new gen, unlike with the PS4 where the big games needed time in the oven.

They are basically delivering on both this time.
Still they'll need indies for ps plus since they won't be able to offer brand new AAA games. Unless they do sth special like TLOUII factions available for plus or sth.

Well I'm sure that one isn't coming to PlayStation...

(I Googled to confirm my suspicions, and yes indeed it's one of those uncanny valley Western developed porn games. Joy.)

Yeeeeeaaaaah. Love me some Shuhei and Indies ❤

I always wondered how they do support those Indies teams. Giving them fund? Not charging for dev kits? Taking less than 30% on each sale? Giving spotlight to them? I would really love to know and see how this is done

Nonetheless, I would appreciate if they keep this initiative strong. I remember when PS4 launched and there were so many interesting Indies and almost every month of PS+ featured one.

F.I.S.T. looks incredible, just my kind of game. Definitely have my eye on Maquette and Creak as well, both look very interesting,

Well if you remember those times, you also remember every PS+ blog post and indie game announcement being inundated with "more indie trash?!?" and "why only filler games?" and "I'm canceling my sub if we dont start getting AAA PS+ games"

People talk about them abandoning indies, but there was a ton of mudslinging going on from 2014-2016ish, lest we forget the ole IndieStation 4 crap that people threw around. They never abandoned them, but yeah i can agree they did pull back after the No Man's Sky debacle, Everyone's Gone to the Rapture fell flat, Rime languishing, etc and AAA games picked up steam considerably.

Now indies are thriving on PSVR, though. Tons of great stuff to find there

Ah, reminds me of currentgen, where the first couple of years we only got indies on PS4. As soon as the exclusives arrived, they stopped giving a shit about indie.
