I remember when I got my Wii, it felt like a really long time to get everything set up, get all the settings right, make a Mii, fiddling with the IR and so on. Setting up a new console always takes some time, and that's to be expected.
The disc installs are a different beast, but they're a good beast. Sure, sometimes it takes more time with huge games like Spider-Man, but most games install really quickly. Even so, you should get into the mindset of always putting the disc into the system the first thing you do. But when you've done that and installed the game, you get to enjoy the benefits of running the game from the hard drive, and for me this really is the ultimate way to play. Physical disc media with an install onto a fast hard drive, and then for tens or even hundreds of hours when you're playing the game, at every moment of the way you're benefiting from that initial install. It's a fantastic feature for me and I just absolutely love it.
