i'm pretty sure that isn't true at all. kingdom hearts 3 was explicitly on hold while the core kingdom hearts team was working on versus xiii, so in fact Versus XIII's development is precisely what caused KH3 *not* to be in development.

KH games have been churning out at a reasonable clip.

Did Just Cause 3 perform well enough in sales that this is a possibility? I thought it did poorly but that might be a bias because I was so upset with the game.

If they weren't going to wait in Japan I doubt they will in the West. Especially when PS4 is by far the most important SKU.

I don't really see then having different release dates for the West for different version maybe Nintendo is involved as well. With Japan as we see right now waiting for Switch version may have meant to delay the game by almost another year. Switch version is still no show.

Highly unlikely. They just switched development teams this year.

The big release dates they're talking about are probably for KH3, DQ11, and maybe Tomb Raider.

I kinda think FF7 Remake will be on PS5. sigh.....

BUt if they DO it on PS5, I would really hope they do it as the complete version instead of separating as episodes.

Probably cross-gen with the next-gen port coming a year or so later, so 2020 at best.

You might be surprised how many projects got scraped or reworked in the middle of development in this industry. Getting things right the first time is not easy.

It's not uncommon. Square's have just been made public more than others due to their absurdly early announcements.

Honestly I'm happy with this. Western titles are revealed when the game's at 50-70% completion. SE announced FF13 when it was 3% completed.

They already one-up'd FF13 by annoncing KH3 before a single line of code was written. All they had was CG Target Renders.

As much as I love the hype behind a surprise megaton announcement from SE Japan I hope they hold back from now on.
