Square Enix to rework less games mid-development, major game release dates coming April-June

I don't know that making the entire Midgar section the first game in this trilogy is somehow invalidating my statement. Even if they add a bit more to the Avalanche and Biggs/Wedge stuff, it's still not a major addition to the story.

lol, that's definitely a significant change but this is going to be one of those major differences of opinions, it sounds like.

I think we might get a FFVIIR CG trailer next PSX. Of course no release date or something like that, just a reminder this game exist

This is factually incorrect, unless something's changed. It was confirmed Part 1 would spend more time in Midgar and develop Biggs and Wedge/AVALANCHE. So at the very least Part 1 is going to be fairly different from FF7.

Some interview a while back. I forget which, but they said they wanted to develop Biggs, Wedge, and Jessie more. You'd ideally wanna stretch out that part of the game for it to be at least 30-40 hours.

Only Midgar for part 1 is almost undoable. In the original it's just a couple hours. Going for 30 hours means you have to make it 10 times as long.
