Street Fighter 6 Official ResetEra Thread Round 2
Thread By Neoxon

  • About the Game
    • Platforms: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, PC
    • Genre: 2D Fighting
    • Developer: Capcom Dev 2
    • Engine: RE Engine
    • Number of Players: 1-2 (100 Max via Battle Hub)
    • Director: Takayuki Nakayama
    • Lead Producer: Shuhei Matsumoto
  • PSA
    • A Capcom ID is required to play online due to the game's cross-play nature. Before you start playing, click this image to begin registering for a Capcom ID, then link up your account with whatever platform(s) you intend to play Street Fighter 6 on. If you were involved in any of the betas for SF6 or other Capcom games like Exoprimal, you should already have a Capcom ID.
  • Control Types
    • Classic
      • The old-fashioned way to play Street Fighter (or......any traditional 2D fighting game, for that matter). 6 attack buttons with special inputs to go with them, this gives you access to your character's complete kit.
    • Modern
      • If you've ever played Smash, Granblue Versus, or DNF Duel, you should feel right at home here. While you lose 3 attack buttons compared to Classic, you gain easy inputs for supers & some specials. Whether you don't know how to use special inputs or can't due to one or more disabilities, Modern can help make Street Fighter more accessible to you.
    • Dynamic
      • Only available for offline play, this allows you to mash your way into optimal play. This is ideal for those who don't know how to play fighting games (or, as mentioned in the Modern example, can't use the other two options due to one or more disabilities), but want to be able to press buttons & have fun with others in a local setting.
  • Game Modes
    • Fighting Ground: Your Moment, Your Fight
      • Arcade, Training, Versus, Extreme Battle, Online, you name it. Fighting Ground covers the bases that most traditional fighting games would handle. Fights can be done through three control types: Classic, Modern, & Dynamic (though only the former 2 can be used online). Between 18 characters at launch (& more coming as DLC), the Drive system with 5 unique mechanics tied to it, rollback netcode & full cross-play, and dozens of ways to play, Fighting Ground is by no means a slouch of a mode on its own
    • World Tour: Meet the Legends, Become a Legend
      • Taking up the role of this game's story mode, you can create your own character and inhabit the role of the protagonist taking on the world. From Metro City to Nayshall and many locales in between, you'll discover the meaning of strength through various moves you learn from the playable roster. This mode will be expanded to include the upcoming DLC characters.
    • Battle Hub
      • The base download of Street Fighter 6, the Battle Hub is where all roads of the game converge. You can queue up for online matches, meet up with other players, get unique clothes for your avatar from the shop, fight other avatars using skills learned from World Tour at the center of the Hub, & so much more. To quote Eternity, the Battle Hub is the place to be.

I love this game so much, it's just so much fun to play. I don't remember being this big into a fighting game since SFIV/MVC3 - the fact that I went out and got a leverless stick and actively am learning on it is crazy to me. :D

Just started listening to the soundtrack again today and I don't care what anyone says I love this soundtrack.

Oh heyyyy. I was LTTP, just started playing a week or so ago, and never saw the old thread. It's my first SF game that I've put more than an hour into since Alpha 3.

Was literally just in the game seeing if the new cosmetics or battle pass was out yet.

lol at the OT title, I approve! Cant believe we got through the last thread so fast... now continues my (probably unsuccessful) run at trying to level up Luke more. Do we know when the next battle pass starts?

OT2! Congratulations!

I've been grinding almost nightly since EVO. Had to put on SF2 music in the Hub so I don't lose my mind to that Turtles song. Why would you do that, Capcom?

I've barely played competitively at launch, did mostly world tour and training, but I came back to the game now and played a good chunk of casual and ranked matches. Just doing ranked now.

I'm silver tier, so, the ultimate scrub but I'm finally feeling like I'm learning. It really takes a lot of time to notice an improvement.

I've never played a fighting game against people outside of friends during the Genesis and PS1 era, in fact I could say that the last fighting game I truly played was Soul Calibur... 3? I did a bit of FighterZ but it was way too intense and I couldn't handle the stress. SF6 is way more manageable for me. My main struggles right now is not knowing how to punish, and completely forgetting to apply what I practice. Doing a drive rush and executing a combo is almost impossible to do in game for me, but I've no problem in training. Landing a crouch medium punch and following it up with a drive rush is another impossible task, but I'm trying, I feel like I'm close to remember to do some of the things I know. I just need not to abandon the game again.

They gotta put somebody in from SF3 next season right?

Hoping for Dudley. I'll give Ed a try but it's been too long since I've kept it classy.

I'm not even going to bother saying that I hope for Akira, because that would suggest that I expect anything of Capcom.

On break now that the battle pass is done, don't feel like playing more currently.

What an exhausting post.

Still plugging away for me. Scraping by with more wins than losses and bouncing in between practice mode and ranked like normal.

Diamond is getting closer by the day...

And this is why I am not doing their BP, previous games with a BP felt like I was driven to play because of the BP, breaking away from that is great, play on my schedule now, and I will never do another BP in any game, ever..

Still enjoying this game immensely. Hoping to reach Diamond Rank with my Modern Chun-li.
Sometimes I wonder if I should learn some new combos and punishes in training mode, but I get bored easily then.
I rather learn the hard way during ranked matches.

Again modern controls is a godsend in this game, it has kept my interest for this game longer than previous entries and my hands don't hurt after long sessions.

Even though I've been playing since release, SF6 can still be very overwhelming at times. Sometimes it sends my mind into Overdrive.

Despite all of that, I love the game and all of the craziness that comes with it.

I wonder how Legend rank is going to work. I kinda think the top 3 or top 10 on the MR leaderboards will get it.

At first I assumed it would be around 2k MR, but everyone at the top is still Master. Bonchan is #1 with 2,068 MR.

The grind is real.

Same, I can only play for so long before I feel overwhelmed.

Then again, I also put over 200 hours into SF6.

Agreed. I was messing around in BH and got a "30 wins" notification or something similar, had no idea it was even a thing.

Marisa Appreciation thread.

Present!

Been stuck at Gold I with her forever and a day, though. Not sure what happened, brain just sort of - stopped being able to progress, LOL. Switched to Ryu (speaking of which - I don't get this thread title.) for a minute thinking maybe the focus on fundamentals and basic bread 'n' butter honest play might help me rearrange my brain a little. Turns out - I just sucked as Ryu for a couple weeks and then nothing translated to Marisa when I went back, LOL.

I still haven't really tried looking at Shuto's config for Modern Marisa on Stick, and then practicing on that setup, though. Which might be it before I calmly, collectedly decide that after 2+ months and Gold ranking, I have maxed out my abilities at Street Fighter 6. No shame in that, still fun to get some games in. The points aren't real, anyway, LOL

I've been having so much fun with this game, I didn't expect it tbh.
It's my first fighting game in decades, it has been an awesome experience to grind the game, learn all the FG concepts and trying to resist to the rage. I'm hooked!

What combos are you using now? I'm thinking of picking up Modern Chun.
