However, the title of this thread is really misleading.
Absolutely. Masculinity must be tempered. It takes work and patience to mold, especially young, boys into men who are strong, compassionate, reasonable, respectful, and dedicated. When these do come together, yes, it can be a force for good. Left unchecked to its worst vices, it succumbs to its worst traits of misplaced aggression, anger, disrespect, and a whole host of other issues.Masculinity itself is, when properly managed, a force for good.

Some of the issues right now is that while society has gone to some great lengths to redefine feminism (or at least give it a broader definition), we haven't re-calibrated a definition for masculinity. As such, I fear many young men without proper leadership, are lost and don't know what to do.
