Huzzah! Got a really nice AR tonight with max stability and after nodding a very high accuracy as well. It's solid as a rock.

Is Castle bugged for everyone? Is it ever an actual settlement you can upgrade and stuff?

I love the loop of this game, helping my friend level up at the moment, I'm at WT2 currently and enjoying the game a lot. Just found one of the hidden hotels haha, some nice loot there, guess I have to look up where the others are.

Regarding the DZ, I've not spend that much time in the DZ yet, I'm around lvl 12. But holy shit the mobs hit hard, I've died more in the DZ than I died soloing up to lvl 30 haha. I can't say that I like the DZ more than I enjoyed the DZ in TD1. I soloed my way upp to DZ rank 75 in TD1, and I loved that it was dark and scary, the current DZ feels a bit more happy to be honest, not as terrifying. I've been ganked once, but that was my own fault since I didn't keep an eye on the radar.

My biggest disappointment with TD2 is the story, it was such a side note and they didn't expand on the story from the first game, Aron Keener only left a few messages, no explanation or expansion on the hunter lore, nothing. I learned nothing new and they didn't really do anything with the story of the first game, and the environmental storytelling in the first is so much better.

Is it just me or does the game still have that memory leak problem? I have noticed that the game starts to run poorly after a prolonged session. Quitting and relaunching the game helps fix this problem for me on PS4.

Encountered this a couple of times after long sessions on base PS4.

Honestly even as a purely singleplayer experience I really cannot think of any other open world shooter I've enjoyed more despite the terrible story. Then again it's exactly a stacked genre, I can hardly think of any that aren't made by Ubisoft themselves.

I really wish the protagonist wasn't a mute character. Especially since the campaign is on the long side this time around. It's just so awkward seeing him/her just stare off into the distance during cutscenes. Only to nod every once in a while when spoken to.

This really bothered me in RDR Online. You'd go from someone pointing a gun at you and threatening to kill you to them offering you work without a word from your character.

Division 2 it's still kind of annoying, but not as bad.

I'm convinced Massive is just cockteasing us with Aaron Keener. Hell, some of the audio logs he put is basically cockteasing us

As for the Hunter, I think they're keeping the Hunter lore mysterious as not to disappoint people who will not be happy if the Hunter lore doesn't live up to their expectations

So gear sets start dropping at wt4 i assume?

They'll drop at WT5

They might be, I just wanted the story to "progress" a bit more to be honest. I don't want to swerve into spoiler territory haha. I think I need to find all the audio logs and echos to get more of the story. I just wish they showed up on the map, I'm to lazy to explore everywhere haha.

Sure, but they could maybe hint on why and who the hunters are, I mean they are hunting Division agents and their training seems to be on par with the Division.

And that is another thing I would want to see and learn more about, how do they train Division Agents, there is so much in the lore that is left unexplained or expanded on, and I don't like that since I find the universe really interesting.

Completing stuff on Challenging is so difficult but I love the challenge it presents. You can have things completely under control and literally in the blink of an eye one enemy pushing forward can push you and your team out of cover for just enough time and the enemy is unforgiving and ruthless in putting you down. Great feeling to complete any of the missions on Challenging.

Which mission did it drop from for you? When it was pointed out it can drop dupes for someone in your party and that they can therefore drop it for you to pick up, it made me depressed how much time I wasted had I just teamed up, sigh.

Took me 4 keys for chatterbox. The blueprint I did on story mode.

Merciless dropped on district union stronghold. Did that on the daily challenging.

Agreed, challenging is fucking awesome with a good team. Focusing fire, calling out threats, working as a well conditioned unit. It just feels so good.

Now try it solo. >:)

Most surprising to me is that "challenging" works very well with random players (without communication). Everybody things about covering a different area, everybody uses skills, focuses fire if necessary etc. Still things can go crazy wrong, but people do not rage or quiet. It's a good experience (so far).

Regarding the argument a couple days ago about the dz vs lz and what loot it drops. Once WT5 and the raid comes out, you should only be able to get the best loot from doing challenging missions/dailies/raids/bounties/WT5 dz. You shouldn't be able to get the best loot from standard chests or fairly easy things like control points. Gear sets and exotics should only be tied to those things with the raids, occupied dark zone, and maybe something like daily challenging missions giving you the biggest chance for good loot. As it stands right now, it's not truly the end game so I don't have a problem with getting good loot in random crates, but this shouldn't be the case once the raid, WT5, and gear sets are out. If people don't want to go to the dark zone, they can do the challenging lz stuff for loot.
Level 4 alert control points are definitely not easy.

Thanks for the info...i'm currently at WT3 and that seems to be a big jump from WT2 so I'm just going to enjoy my time there for a little while i think!

I love it when I find a group that doesn't give up and tries out different strategies when we keep wiping. Gives a real sense of accomplishment when we actually clear it.

Depends on your team mates. I usually inspect their gear before committing to the mission. Sometimes you get matched with brain dead players who rush challenging enemies and get downed every other minute.

I see players running skills with crowd control, I go along since they tend to play smartly.

In the grand scheme of things it's not as bad as RDR Online, but still noticeable and annoying. I don't even think your character has damage and running VO, lol. At least I haven't noticed it.

My favourite current solo build:

Safeguard Killing a target grants a 150% bonus to rearing and healing effects for 20s
Patience After being in cover for 3s, armour repairs by 5%

And on my AR I have Rooted - While equipped and in cover, all skill dmg and healing is increased by 25% for 10s.

Which I assume is a fairly standard base for armour regen builds.

Then Berserk +10% weapon dmg for every 10% of max armour depleted. In conjunction with the above, this means I can pop out of cover, take heavy fire, increase my dmg up to 100% to tear down a target, then get back in cover for insane armour regen.

I'm running Survivalist for the AR dmg buff, and I have Chatterbox in my secondary for the holstered talent Blabbermouth - while holstered, reloading your weapon within 5s of a kill grants 20% rate of fire for 10s.

I also have Spike - Headshot Kills grant +25% skill damage for 10s, so if I time this with Rooted I get +50% for my Oxi.

The build has 70% headshot damge, which I tried to get as high as possible for Spike.

So, using the AR almost exclusively, stacking the buffs and killing stuff to trigger regen.

Skill wise I'm carrying Oxidizer which gets the 25% buff from Rooted. I'm also running 2k Skill power which allows me to slot two Chem Launcher mods for + ammo giving me a total of +5 ammo for my Oxi. The problem with +ammo in Chem Launcher is that after firing a round, you stay out of cover for a second or two while you reload the launcher. If you have no +ammo, it goes on cooldown and won't reload allowing you to duck back in cover immediately. The Armour regen aspect of the build counters this exposure.

It's not optimized yet, in my other talent slots I have Hard Hitting - +15% dmg to elites x2, Destructive +20% explosive dmg (which buffs my signature weapon), and Self Adjusting +20% armour regen.

-

So, get in cover, score headshot kills (taking fire increases dps and reloading between for the extra ROF for heavier targets), buff Oxi, fire Oxi, cover to regen, repeat.

This is the first build I'm going all out to try to opimitze at WT4, I have to say this is one of the most addictive loot shooters in terms of build variety and possibilities.

Managed to squeak across the level 30 line on Sunday evening with one stronghold left to go. The Outcast strong hold got pretty rough towards the end but we pulled through (f**k the personal guard). I really loved the setting for that mission. The semi-jungle environment was such a nice touch.

A little bit apprehensive on what the True Sons stronghold will be like.

But what's a final build? I guess what I'm getting at is if people have maxed out WT4 and are bored, won't they also be bored a few hours after WT5?

Well, in theory people will be more invested in fine-tuning their gear/build when it's not going to be invalidated any day now. That's one of the disadvantages of the vertical progression that many of these games employ. New WT makes the old one obsolete and people don't want to spend time on something that will soon be obsolete. It's just a weird limbo right now so they should at least give people a timeframe.

I get it tbh, while the level cap gets raised with new content often in games like these, there's usually defined time frames between content so you know the build you refine will be worth the time invested.

Right now I'm refining the above build, and a few others, but I'm going to have to start over when WT5 releases. The issue here is it could be dropped on us any time. If they told us it was next week, I'd give up refining what I have for now.

Think i have encountered a story/game breaking bug that would require a total restart. Whenever I go to the castle there is nobody there and nothing to do. Its asking me to speak to a character, yet there is literately no one around and nothing to do in this massive space.

This was explained via cutscenes and game chatter :p

The castle is abandoned for now due to in-game story reasons

What character are you looking for? Sometimes it can be a little bit obscure where you're supposed to go. Maybe you could take a screen grab of your progress tab for the thing you're looking for.

The castle is empty, but the should be a hatch you can open that leads down to a cellar of sorts where you can find the person you need to talk to.

Idk what the deal is with that TAC 50 but I swear to god I consistently miss shots that are dead center.
You have to wait for a second for the reticle to tighten before the shot will be accurate.

It's part of the balance against the other signature weapons: move potential single target power, less rate of fire.
How do you get Chatterbox?
With a quick google! :p

If you can't watch:

Farm Hyena keys found in underground areas in boxes on the wall.

Open Hyena caches in specific areas to find the 3 exotic parts, those being:

Downtown East - Loaded Canister
Federal Triangle - Creative Magazine J
udiciary Square - Modified Mods

Find the secret keycard in the Bank HQ mission to open the locked room inside the vault at the end of the mission to discover the blueprint.

I'm level 24 and have been diligently dismantling all the items I've picked up and maxed out my material inventory space. Now I'm basically dismantling items and not getting anything for them because my space is full. Nothing really seems that good to craft since I'm getting stuff naturally while leveling. Any recommendations on how to spend these materials? Should I just start selling the extra armor and guns to a vendor for cash money?

Don't dismantle everything if you have any interest in putting together a refined build at Wt4-5.

You will need certain attributes and talents to make certain builds work, and you can use the re calibration bench to use attributes and talents from lower level gear on your higher level pieces.

You can't reclibate crafted items. Exotics aside, you'll get the most use crafting to plug any holes in your Gear Score or for attempting to craft a weapon you like with a good set of talents (ie: gambling).

just a quick question regarding the specialisations, do the buffs stack?

For example if I choose demo and then chose to spec survivalist do the demo buffs ( explosive damage etc ) remain in place or do they all change when i change the specialisation?

They're only active while the specialization is. Like, you don't get buffs from gear you're not wearing.

Last night i encountered my first major glitch.

I was doing Roosevelt Island Stronghold World Tier 2 solo. I made it all the way to the end of the mission and was fighting the big heavy at the end. I had it slivered and another shot or two wouldve downed it and i wouldve been on my way to World Tier 3. But before i could get those 1 or 2 shots off my game popped a loading screen in front of me sending me back to the beginning of the Stronghold forcing me to do it all over again.

Needless to say i was bummed. I turned it off for the night cause it was getting late and i didnt want to go through that long ass stronghold solo again.

If I recalibrate a high GS weapon using a low GS weapon (ie the low GS weapon gets destroyed), will my high GS weapon retain its GS or will it go down?

Usually it won't move at all, sometimes it does.

There is a different cap for attributes depending on how many attributes the piece has.

Gear with one attribute has a much higher cap than gear with four. The more attributes you have, the lower the cap for each.

So if you're moving an attribute from a four attribute piece to a single attribute piece, it might be so much lower than the cap that the GS gets reduced a little.

I think this is how it works, 9/10 the GS doesn't move at all. You will get a message sometimes saying "overall effectiveness may reduce if you do this" (paraphrased), but I think that's just letting you know it's a bit below the cap for that attribute. The only time I've ever seen GS actually go down when this happens is when the attribute is MUCH lower than the cap.
