Welcome to the Player One Podcast Topic on ResetEra!

What is it? The Player One Podcast is a weekly audio podcast that began in October 2006 and is hosted by ex-video game journalists Chris Johnston (CJ), Greg Sewart, Phil Theobald, and Ethan Einhorn. They worked at Electronic Gaming Monthly, GameNOW, and other Sendai/Ziff-Davis publications in the late '90s and early 2000s, and still work in the games industry now. Almost 600 episodes have been produced thus far. New episodes are recorded on Sundays and released via audio on Tuesdays.

No, I mean what is a podcast? Oh. Uhm. Check here in the general Podcasts thread.

What are some pertinent links where I might be able to find out more about this amazing, long-running audio program?

What are some good episodes to start with?

568: Scooper Nintendo - Live from Scoopfest '17, in this episode there's a bit of an introduction to the show and then they talk about the Super Nintendo.

(Suggestions for other good episodes to start with welcome!)

One of the best podcasts around. Been a faithful listener to years, the chemistry between the cast can't be beat.

Good to see you here. For a sec I was confused as to why you would stay with that one post on the old site. But pretty much anyone who responded in that thread had moved over anyways so this makes all the sense in the world.

Really glad to be part of this community, and doubly happy to see P1P make the jump as well.

By the way SuperPac, I completely understand dropping my tweet about the Super NT console from the audio podcast (it was pretty funny actually), as it had already been discussed earlier in the show. Hoping to contribute to this week's show with a bit of less obvious question. Keep up the great work!

Happy to see you guys made it over. I’ve listened to the podcast for 7 or 8 years now and always felt a little connection to the hosts having grown up in Naperville and frequented the Babbages at Fox Valley mentioned a few times (plus being a Segaphile like Greg!). I think I might order one of those shirts - the new logo is outstanding.

All the Super Mario Odyssey talk going around is making me finally want to pick up a Switch. For 400 I can get the system, Mario, and Zelda, and I'm really tempted to do it. But, even though it's probably not going to happen, I know in about 10 days Black Friday stuff will be posted, so I should at least wait until then to know if anything goes on sale. I should wait for that, yes.
