I've been doing sales threads of GAF for over half a decade and have only fallen short once (my broadband was down) that I can remember.

This game seems so big now. Is this even worth trying, or is it too daunting? Do I need to buy the expansions to really get into it? Will it get a Scorpio patch?

It's really accessible now (for an MMO). They re-did the lvling system so that you can play with anyone at any lvl and you are as competitive as each other. The only problem with the new system is that you can't go back to an early dungeon and monster it by yourself. You can mainline the story missions and be done with them before you hit lvl 15. I've only nibled the three original DLC's when they were free one weekend, no idea about a patch.
