I never had a hip hop song make me cry. Violent Crimes puts me in tears so easily. Its really surprising me. I don't even have children, let alone a daughter... Its so emotionally bittersweet. Definitely a proper to successor to Runaway.

I like ye, but right now, switching it up listening to some Yeezus... Might be my favorite Kanye album. MBDTF and Yeezus go back and forth as number 1.

After several listens, I quite enjoyed this album, have "all mine" chorus all over my head.

It's a 7.5/10 album for me.

I'm bipolar and it reminds me of being in the art room at the mental hospital. Like he's just doodling with a bunch of broken mis-matched crayons and dried-out markers. If his albums were those drawings of cats that chart the slow and inevitable progression of a degenerative mental illness, Ye would be the drawing all the way on the right that is more scribbled fractal than cat. Sure it's fascinating, but more as a depressing record of decline than some kind of artistic triumph. If this is a wonderful meditation on mental illness then so is Charlie Sheen's tiger blood interview. Everything is a giant red flag with Kanye lately. God help you if Ye is your summer jam.

Finding it oddly relieving to not be supporting this.

I'm sure I'll get around to hearing it...in a year or so. Maybe. Be damned if I stream it, though.

first listen and the only thing that was ok was No Mistakes and even that felt like the style was much better in his first 3 albums

absolutely hated TLOP and think Yeezus is his best though so idk how popular my opinions are

Honestly there's not really been a hip-hop album this year I'd put higher than a 7 and I'm feeling bummed out tbh.

Going to have to listen to this sometime, worse than TLOP is still a really good album.

People who hate 808s confuse me
I didn't like it for years, but came around on it like three years ago. Only song I dont care for on it is Pinnochio Story, and really that is only because it is live and not as mastered as well as the rest of the album.

Alright, I gave it the car speaker test.

ITAKY has a spoken work part that goes on for way too long. Once the beat kicks in, but it just kind of ends before it feels like it's about to get good.

I really like the production on Yikes. It's also has one of the best hooks on the album. Lyrics are trash, but the song is a bop.

All Mine is alright. Another one where I really like the production. I don't care for the nasel sounding hook at all though

Wouldn't Leave is super forgettable. Like I wouldn't call it bad, but I have trouble even remembering what it sounds like.

No Mistakes is solid. I really good sample and it, again, has fantastic production (Notice the trend here)

Ghost Town is the standout. Just an awesome song all around with the highlight being the 070 Shake part.

Violent Crimes is also really good, but it doesn't quite hit the same highs as Ghost Town.

Overall I would give it a 3/5. It's not a bad album at all, but if you're only going to have 7 tracks, all those tracks better be great and these weren't. It's the only album that Kanye has released that I've come away thinking it was middling, and that's disappointing

MBDTF is #1 and it's not a discussion. You can rate the rest as you like but MBDTF is not only the best Kanye album, it's one of the best albums of the last decade. It's perfection.

Production on point, which was never in any doubt. Everything else though.... Not too sure. Still salty about his Sacramento concert meltdown so I didn't give any coins. Sorry not sorry

Seriously just go listen to the new Black Thought EP. There is barely anything of substance on this.

regardless of what people say in their obnoxious self-righteous sanctimonious internet hate bubble, this record is sparking really important conversations in the real world. i was talking to one of my friends, who isn't even a big kanye fan, and he just listened to the record. we had a very real conversation about bipolar and how it's impacted both of our lives, where i didn't even know it was something he had gone through before and vice versa. it was a very cathartic experience, and it's a conversation we just wouldn't have had without this record. it's a significant album. let the holier-than-thou sneering begin
