You can play the first game on the Switch, released today.
Deadly Premonition 2 is happening so that's good enough for me. Hopefully I can afford a Switch by then.
(C) Marvelous/Rising Star, though, so it'll go multiplatform at some point, especially as doesn't appear to be published by Nintendo -- and even if it is, publishing rights always eventually default to the copyright holder. See: Lego City Undercover.

Every time a Nintendo Direct comes by, it's always hard to keep up.
I only know this game by name, I thought 2 was being ported to Switch but I guess it's a brand new game. Which console did the original release on?
Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC I think. It was a multi-platform like Bayonetta.

When it's good, it's SO good. When it's not good, it's kind of laughable. Basically, it's a brilliantly written game that was just too ambitious for its shovelware-licensed-game level dev team to handle. Ultimately, it's totally worth it, but you have to be able to have a sense of humor about the jank.
It's good. It's genuinely good at the things that people like it for (characters, writing, world building). It has shitty gunplay and production value but the love the game gets isn't just some ironic thing (...for the most part).
Hey man if they are paying for it they are getting it as an exclusive. Would be great if Sony followed their strategy with both making actual exclusives and paying for interesting games like Nintendo does and I can respect what they are doing here and hope that more games that didn't have a chance for a sequel, to receive one.
What it lacks in polish it makes up for with charm and personality.
Whaaat? I never even heard they were making DP2 before now. Isn't he currently busy making his kickstarter game? God damnit I do not have a Switch nor am i planning on buying one so I can only hope it does well and eventually reaches other platforms. Hopefully they're making it a complete game and not episodic like D4 that ended up being cancelled after just one episode.
Cmon you've got like four Platinum games from Nintendo at this point. I wanna see that too though
