Cool. So we're going to compare passive and interactive media types. By this logic we should be all streaming now. I mean people can watch 4K films through streaming right? Low latency interaction with a game is no different right? If the technology to make streamed gaming work sufficiently well is here, I don't see why it would fail. Streaming worked quite well for the movie industry...
I don't think it's reluctance in the future. It's that the old dogs have seen this song and dance before with regard to other tech promises. It's very strange how reluctant this website is to the future.
Sony and Microsoft have to exist five years ahead. By then this will actually be relevant. So no, they can't "breathe easy", unless Google gives up early.
Google can't break laws of physics so there will ALWAYS be lagThis looks incredible. The only question is how it works on different connections and whether there will be lag.
That made me laugh lol
I live in Brazil. I have the whole country as a barrier.Because this has no initial barrier to entry. That's at least what they are banking on. Not sure if that will be enough but I wouldn't expect that to go over all that well here. We are enthusiasts who largely have no problem spending $500-100+ on gaming hardware. Google is banking that there are hundreds of millions of people not served by that market. People who watch streams, who play shit like fortnite and phone gamers are the new casual market.
Sure, I'm interested in that. Its just odd they didn't show it in action here too. If it runs really well then it will be awesome. Plus the pricing! How does it work? They have demos setup, I'm sure we'll hear stuff in a few hours about how the experience is
They'll buy GTA on the console they already own. It's not like GTA is going to be exclusive. You're already assuming too much. Get the next GTA on there and see what people will buy
Next GTA will be on next-gen consoles. They'll buy GTA on the console they already own. It's not like GTA is going to be exclusive.
There was lag clear as day when they demoed it. Like very noticeable input lag. This looks incredible. The only question is how it works on different connections and whether there will be lag.
Please noGoogle should take Sony's spot at E3. They have something to talk about.
Yeah, before you replied I realized my mistake and edited my post. Sorry about that! You are correct here.
But perhaps, as some people have said, they did rearrange the display after the first picture was taken.
The argument that this was solely focused on developers kinda falls apart when they brought on a youtuber to ramble on about bullshit.
Chances are they will later. Buzzwords and promises are the lifeblood of tech conferencesShow something tangible.
You're not Playstation, Xbox or Nintendo. You can't just throw some buzzwords and promises and expect people to care.
You will be able to play games at the resolution of a postage stamp!2.8mbps down
0.4mbps up
Verizon DSL (literally the fastest internet offered in my rural-ass town)
Am I Stadia ready or what?
