Isn't this a spoiler?

Yeah I would spoiler tag that myself but some media outlets (Double Toasted for example) are letting it be known that they were also surprised by that revelation in their reviews.

I hope they make these movies forever. Bring all The Raid guys in. Gimme Iko as a chapter 4 final boss!! Arghhh! So excited. This feels like it has the potential of being one of the coolest action movie cross overs in history.

What a fucking MOVIE! Oh my God, I was jittery and borderline tearing up during the action scenes because my body didn't know what to do to contain the HOIYPE.

Keanu was incredible as always, but Halle Berry fucking shreds in her big action scene, and the entire crew obviously had so much fun with the choreography. They could have got away with another movie of just the classic John Wick Judo Shoot-o, but instead they built on it, took it further, threw new challenges at John and came up with new ways for him to get past them. God, I loved it. The last half hour of this movie is pure video games and it's absolutely brilliant.

I felt that John Wick 2 was a borderline comedy, only with the characters mostly playing it straight, and JW3 continues that same tone but nobody told Mark Dacascos about the 'playing it straight' part. He acts like he just walked off the Iron Chef set, and he's an utter delight. You don't hire Dacascos if you aren't going to let him be Dacascos, and goddamn did they let him be Dacascos.

The dog scene goes on my Top 10 action scenes list. The knife museum fight? Art. I don't even know what to say about the entire final act of the movie. I think John Wick might be the best movie trilogy ever.

In conclusion:

On top of that
Not only cameos from those famous Asian films but also a cameo of Denzel's character from the Equalizer would be so bad ass. It seems like an infinite universe of possibilities like the fast and furious franchise has become.

Okay, to sum up my thoughts: the movie borrows a lot from the first movie in that there's very little exposition and just plunges you into the world. Onto the actual movie:

We're dropped into the action right from the first scene and it never stops. There are no dull moments, and nearly everything is a Chekov's gun, right down to things like seeing the body slam and it being used again in the final fight scene, or the ballet scenes mirroring the praise for the series.

The best scenes were probably the fight scenes from the first third of the movie before Morocco, because it showed Wick at his most desperate. The only distracting part was the doggos as there were only a few scenes where they were actually tactically useful, as Halle Berry's character already got a few shots on the bad guy before the dog came rushing in.

The theatre loved the entire movie, and got visceral reactions to nearly all of the kills. I don't think the audience recognized the guys from The Raid or even Mark Dacascos.

Lastly, I felt that the movie pacing between the second and third act was a little off, as John flip flops really easily between working for Above the High Table and not. It seemed like there would've been a deleted scene or something...

In regards to the ending:

I was under the impression that Winston was definitely not betraying John, judging by the shots all being to the suit, the concierge saying "well played", and his nonchalant attitude when told John was gone.

Holy hell what a film though, I've loved all of them and just love the way they're shot and choreographed. You can tell it's a passion project for sure. I wish more directors would keep steady long shots in their films, but of course that's easier said than done.

Also, as an aside, my theater had THREE trailers for Dark Phoenix in a row, THREE. The IMAX exclusive one with the nostalgia bait, the normal one, and then, inexplicably, the 3D one (in my 2D John Wick screening). My theater were cracking up by the end of the final one, hilarious.

This is the best movie I've personally watched this year...it's fucking awesome. (I understand this is super hyperbolic but I just got out of the movie and...I really enjoyed it)

I loved the first Raid film, did not like the second.

My head canon is that they're the same characters.
Interesting and kind of make sense as well, I'll go see the movie tomorrow again and focus on those two to see how similar they are between the Raid films. I'm the opposite, I enjoyed Raid 2 over Raid 1 much like I enjoyed John Wick 1 over 2 (now 3 over both, haha), it really depends if you wanted a pure martial arts film versus deeper character building which I got out of the second. It did drag a bit though and could stand to cut 15 minutes off.

Fantastic movie. 3 > 1 > 2 in my book but the whole trilogy has been amazeballs.

Only minor disappointment is:
the lack of the iconic "focus/commitment/sheer will" line but I guess they didn't want to fill the movie with callbacks and references

In regards to the ending:

That was my initial take too. Didn't even consider the alternative.

Hit the nail on the head, I was shocked at how many hilarious scenes there were that the audience was laughing at and none of them felt forced. My favorite of them was
when John meets Dacascos outside the station with knives in hand, one of Dascascos's comes up behind John, John murders him and says, "Is he one of yours?" Dacascos responds, "He was." Audience was laughing at that scene because of how on-point he delivered his line.

They were in Rogue One if I'm not mistaken, curious how there scenes were in that film. So happy for them, rather unknowns to me before the Raid and now they are given roles in high-budget action films. They deserve it and please more Dacascos, he was amazing.

They were definitely in Force Awakens when Rey first meets Han, they're one of the two groups looking for Han.

I had no idea Lance Reddick was Daniels from The Wire. That acting range.

I didn't like the forced torture they put the protagonist through. I liked how Raid 1 was a tighter film.
(I feel the same way about the first two JW films.)

Just saw it. It was awesome. I bet there is one scene everyone will be talking about.

Dual wield attack dogs!

If you liked the other two, you will like this one. Great trilogy.

Is there any movie with a higher testicle kill count than John Wick 3?

Better than 2, but some of the sequences and fights kind of linger too long for my taste. And I hate to say it but Keanu's age is showing because he's starting to look a tad slow at times. That said it's easily the best action film in recent years, just an insane amount of choreography and Halle berry and the dogs were Fucking awesome.

I feel like John Wick's fighting style is perfect for Keanu these days. He's definitely lost a step since The Matrix (I think he's had some injuries?), and when he shows up as the final boss in Man of Tai Chi it's honestly kind of hard to watch him throwing these slow, lumbering kicks after you've just sat through a movie that's otherwise hot fire from young and promising action stars:

But as John Wick he's obviously more focused on grappling, rolling around on the floor and showing off those gun porn skills, and he can do all that like an absolute champ. I can't wait until some JW3 gifs start hitting the internet; that one shot where he reloads the shotgun like four times with some kind of speedloader thing I've never seen before had my jaw on the floor :P

Honestly though, the dude is 54 and doing a lot of his own stunts. He's crazy but he's awesome and he clearly loves what he does, you have to appreciate it.

Oh, absolutely, the dude is a beast. I'm half his age and I kind of wince at the thought of just grinding my shoulder blades into the floor doing all those combat rolls he does :P

Raid 1 was tighter I'll agree, but the lack of memorable characters aside from Iko Uwais and Yanyan Ruhian (Mad Dog in Raid 1) hurt it for me. I need to get attached to the characters and it's hard to do that in the first film when it's just a breach of a hotel complex. I get what you're saying about the second one, Iko Uwais character does go through a lot, but I'm getting off-topic from John Wick. All I'll say is that they need to retain Yanyan Ruhian and Cepcep Rahman (The Assassin in Raid 2) and get Iko Uwais and maybe Tony Jaa and Donny Yen for the most badass assassin group ever conceived.

Can someone reply in spoiler tags whether any dogs die? Or any animals in general? My girlfriend hates that shit(yeah she doesnt care about humans heads exploding, go figure), it'd be nice to know in advance.

No dogs die, a dog gets shot but it's wearing armor.

Also as far as I remember the horses go completely unscathed too.

It was good, real good. So happy that
there seems to be fourth one coming
. But did Bowery say the line from the trailer ("You think you can take John Wick?") in the actual movie?
