Wow, actual journalism from Kotaku of all places. I do hope both of them do well, but I reckon there was barely a market for one seller and I say that as someone who wanted to buy a couple of those.
Funny enough though, nobody outside a few Dreamcast loyalists in Europe know the real truth: these American Sega cases are not
that frail. Not when compared to the beautiful, but ridiculously easy to shatter, break and come apart cases that Sega of Europe picked for Dreamcast. Even just taking the disc out with a bit more strength than required would break the holding teeth. They are the bane of my existence as someone who's been collecting the whole library over the years. But oh so pretty.
Here's one that's "just" missing teeth and one hinge. Usually, it's both hinges and the front or back are cracked and the teeth are missing. These support two discs (the back side is openable) so there's always a chance the back portion also lost the disc holding teeth.
