Well, that's the point. Gundam Age was Hino's first try in making mechs popular with kids again. Megaton Musashi is supposed to be his second try at it.

This sole frame screams Ben10 on 3D. WTF they were trying to do? Isn't the... five (?) series good enough for them?

And I don't think that old fans would care anyway. After all, CN feels like "TTGO! - The Network" anyway.

I remember to see X on the old cartoon and thinking on "This is one of the most epic stuffs that I ever saw". There's zero chance of that happening again, mostly because kids doesn't play Mega Man and the releases of Capcom for the series are a joke.

At best Ninja is on the Ellen Degeneres Show and both played awfully.

On topic: Switch felt it's drought on the second year, and not because there weren't games for it, but mantaining the interest over a console as unique as the Switch can be tough as hell.

I think that everyone is expecting the Smash cycle to start to see how the things will turn out, especially with the competitive community, after all Pokemon is big enough to be a success even not being released yet.

Didn't think about it this way. I figured the HD Zelda titles will be ported eventually. I guess it depends on what EAD Tokyo is making which will likely release in 2020. If they are make Odyssey 2 then I could see a 3D World port happening. However, if they are making a 3D World sequel then I dont see them making a port. Pikmin 3 would be great perhaps they could release this before Pikmin 4.

The Pikmin franchise treatment has been so strange. Nintendo has only released mainline Pikmin entries on their worst selling consoles. They released a spinoff on the 3DS past it's prime with little marketing. I feel they could have a massive hit if they released a Pikmin 4 Switch depending on execution, replayability, multiplayer and content. I think the series could be closer to 2-3 million sellers, they just have released early on in on flop systems lifetimes and often get forgotten.

IMHO year 3 for Switch is looking to be very good, even better than the first year.
A lot of good 1st party games already confirmed and some solid 3rd party efforts too.
And I really think we'll see Bayonetta 3 and/or Metroid Prime 4 in 2019 making it an epic year for the hybrid.

Mario + Rabbids released in August 2017 in the West vs January 2018 in Japan. So about the same.

Niche publishers can operate with smaller profit margin because that's all they have. Capcom, a much larger publisher, decided not to bother with such operations.

25% is taken by the retailer and 12$ it taken by Nintendo for making the cards. It should be noted that it is a manifacturing fee, not a sales one. It means that not selling the initial shipment could be troublesome.

So we are left with 10.5$ per copy if 100% of the shipment is sold, and -1.5$ per copy if half of it is sold.

If you're charging $10 or $15, they want you selling digitally. I believe that thing where you sell a download code in an empty box gets around some of this, which is why you see that happen, but this is also why no one wants to release retail games at less than $60 and very few release at $40, except for first party games who get to skip the licensing fee.

Similarly, this is why sales/price cuts on retail games tend to bottom out at $20 barring a clearance scenario, as you're already making $3 a unit at that point, which is less than a $5 game sold digitally.

Retailers also helped inspire this as games take the same space regardless of price, and they would much rather make $15 a copy sold than $2.50 a copy sold, so inspiring this pricing structure worked in the favor of console vendors in terms of getting more floor space for games.

Now that only proves the risky balance of these physical budget titles but not the main point since the PS4/X1 versions are out physically en Europe.

Maybe Nirolak could elaborate on the impact of the cartridge size. In the Ubisoft thread there were no mentions of the impact of those. Is the 12$ fee higher depending on the cartridge size ?
