Out of those, either 4 or 5 but I'm not entirely sure what the point of the spacing is.
Though to be honest, I wish the font was a bit smaller.

Aw man, I was already getting used to it. Looks like #4 is coming, though :/
Oh and while you're on the task of reformatting user posts can you please release me from this hell I'm about to have an aneurysm
While typografically and logically Open Sans makes sense, the problem is it renders like crap. The benefit of Helvetica is that it renders decently. Naturally San Francisco and Roboto would be optimal.
It's what, 10 pixels, max? :P Even with only minimum length posts you're looking at like, a sub-5% reduction in active vertical screen space. And I do think the margin has its benefits for visibility.Noooo, I hate the space. It's just a waste of screen real estate. We already have alternating colors to differentiate posts T.T
Both of those fonts are incredible but are they available for general use?
I agree, but it's a large typeface that works better for titling than body copy.

But Montserrat+Lato? Yes please!
For headlines, definitely, but I'm not sure I could handle a whole E3 conference thread full of nothing but Montserrat...
Just really need a 1px border between spaces, it'll be enough for your eyes to visually better separate posts imo.

I tried messing around with Source Sans Pro for the post content, but it's hard to beat Lato. It's good at just about everything.I'm using Monserrat for titles, Lato for post content currently.
Came in here to say exactly this. Helvetica with a 1px border between posts and no spacing is the way to go. I think the left/right side padding should also be reduced for desktop browsers. I'd say posts/threads should take up roughly 90% or more of the width of your browser window, with only very small padding left on the sides.Looks like we're moving to Helvetica, the correct choice >:)
As far as spacing goes, I agree with others' sentiment that a single pixel width border between cells should be enough to distinguish between posts.
I think the Report button that most of us see is far too eye-popping. It really sticks out.
Besides that option 4 looks best to me.
That's largely due to the dark gray buttons at the bottom of each post.Posts feel 'crowded' for a lack of a better term, to me. Like they're right on top of each other.
(Yes, I'm using the unofficial dark theme.)
I feel like a 2px margin between posts works pretty well:
