okay maybe he'll be fine, lmao
Orisa is over. Roadhog can deleted her shield in 4 shots and still has 6 seconds left on cooldown.
best tank after D.Va getting even better
I'm most conflicted about Orisa. Yeah, she is losing her shield, but have you fucking seen her move now? She's the Battle Cattle now. She can just straight up run at the enemy like a damage tank.Jesus. Orisa's shield may soon have less health than Winston's old shield. Crazy.
Rip Orisa.
Not sure what Seagull was playing against, I'm assuming not other GM players, but with the shield nerfs we should be seeing more ranged DPS again. Armor buffs are a nerf to reaper and with the nerf to double shield, we should see more Widow/Hanzo/Ashe/McCree among others. If that shieldless cow wants to run up with that massive head, she's inevitably going to have a bad time.I'm most conflicted about Orisa. Yeah, she is losing her shield, but have you fucking seen her move now? She's the Battle Cattle now. She can just straight up run at the enemy like a damage tank.
Which is the actual rub here. Before this, Orisa's design philosophy was clear - She was the bunker tank. Her strength and weakness were clearly defined in being able to hold a position with shielding and CC and Fortify, but if you got past all that, then Orisa blew up. As the game went on, she got a bit more mobility, sure, but that never stopped being her primary role. If you wanted a dive tank, you went winston, if you wanted a mobile shield tank you went Reinhardt, if you wanted a bunker tank, you went Orisa.
Now she's just weird. She can and will run up like a reinhardt and take a fight at fairly close range. Time will tell if this ends up staying effective once it hits live, but Seagull played her like a bloodthirsty warhorse and got work done.
I'm not fully opposed to this, but...like I said, it's wierd. But they have to do something now, because with Sigma, double shield is now a legit strategy where it wasn't before. Sigma has synergy with Rein and especially Orisa the same way Mercy and Pharah do, with their defensive abilities overlapping such that bunker shield strategy has become obscenely powerful. So it might very well be the case that this massive nerf to shields, especially Orisa's shield, is actually necessary and her design simply has to change now that Sigma's in the game.
(for the record, this is the issue I have with this non-stop stream of adding heroes every 3-4 months. I feel like we have just about every concievable design role for a shooter filled at this rate, so characters are now have really wierd functions or are redundant hybrids. Ashe being a clear hybrid of McCree and Widowmaker is the most obvious case here. I feel like slowing down and trying to figure out what kind of design the game would benefit from would be preferable over adding new heroes just to add them)
But on the other hand, I'm always conflicted when the design philosophy of a character changes so drastically. We already have DPS tanks in Roadhog and D.Va, so I'm not sure if Orisa can compete in that category.
Seriously. Please stop nerfing her every patch Jeff.
Oh fuck this. Support just got even worse to play with shield protections getting nerfed hard.
Support was fine before shield meta. Fine now.Oh fuck this. Support just got even worse to play with shield protections getting nerfed hard.
Orisa is so useless
Just need to learn natural cover and better positioning.
Also I see Moira running out of healing juice more often now that her healing output was nerfed and the increased spam damage from the barrier nerf.Oh fuck this. Support just got even worse to play with shield protections getting hard.
Which supports? Moira got an actual nerf, but lack of shields will be just as useful for support players. Ana can actually land sleeps and nades now, and won't have her healing blocked off and Zen's discords can once again make a difference. Hell, Healing in general will have an easier time going through since barriers blocked off even AoE healers like Lucio and Brigette.Oh fuck this. Support just got even worse to play with shield protections getting nerfed hard.
Not play at a level where dive was an issue.Support was fine before shield meta. Fine now.
What did you do during Dive? Run around screaming? It's fine.
The 2-2-2 role-lock Q-times might take longer, but it's still better than getting 4-5 dps on your team with no healer and/or shield-tank, lol.Jumping back into PC gaming with my fancy new build and widescreen - havent played for about 6 months and looks like i made it to level 61 (mad skillz).
What the hell happened? i have to choose a class now? takes forever to join a game as i liked playing junkrat (yeah i know...).
Back in it though! missed my OW fix :)
I'm no Tracer main or anything, but I feel like that'd make her uncatchable. A good Tracer has to be hunted down already, with an extra blink only someone like Hammond could keep up (and all he can do against her is die).Surprised they not just give Tracer another blink and more damage to her gun.
After playing Rein for a while, and noticing how dependent he is on a good healer, watching Moira and Lucio run off to DPS is infuriating.
On the other hand, when the hell did Brig come up again? After the initial changes I remember her feeling like paper thin, but playing her most of the day today and as long as I don't over extend, she's a beast.
Yeah I'm playing her and Rein in prep for the big patch. 2/3 of my tank pool got nerfed. Really looking forward to Brig possibly being meta though. She's a ton of fun to play. She's been good since her change with 2-2-2 but in certain situation where you have someone to dive on you, she's just not tanky enough to go and proc her heal otherwise. This next patch is a big buff for her though in that regard.
Brig was abandoned, because people don't feel like learning her new playstyle. She's not the one wonder tank anymore, but with a shift in playstyle she can still be a big asset of the team. Armor buffs help her out in this case again. After playing Rein for a while, and noticing how dependent he is on a good healer, watching Moira and Lucio run off to DPS is infuriating.
