Even aside from the graphical bugs, the game itself is hella buggy, especially comparing it to JC3 on launch. Things like enemy vehicles not getting destroyed until you try to get in them, NPCs you are escorting (which normally is easy because they take very little damage) just randomly dying, I've had tethers just not actually tether properly, etc.Damn, that sucks. One can only hope they are going to patch all this stuff though.
I wonder if it will end up being below my expectations. 😎I can't believe Below is finally coming out. I'm not super interested it in now, but I'll keep an open mind.
Weird that they didn't announce the date at the award show.
Probably just part of the Winter of Arcade thing Phil Spencer wil surely talk about at Doritos AwardsBelow and Ashen both kinda seem like they're being thrown out a little unceremoniously.

It's crazy how much that last 2% costs.
There's a pretty common phrase in the game industry in: You build the first 90% of the game. Then you build the second 90%.
That last 10% is such an enormous amount of work (which means money). It's why game devs love game jams so much; you do all the fun creative stuff without having to do all the grueling stuff that takes a game from "meh" to "great".
It's clear the update has broken many existing things for this site, and killed performance too. Honestly, if they can't fix things "soon", maybe just switch back? I guess it's annoying to have wasted so much work, but what's better: Not wasting your own time, or forcing thousands of people to waste their time by living with a badly working system.
I am not even talking about the design here, just the fact how often this site fails to load correctly. It's gotten better, but it seems like this will become a bigger issue anytime the site is under any load.

A friend of mine played a game during the free weekend for several hours (Hunt: Showdown AFAIR). He then bought the game during the recent sale, and after half an hour decided to refund. Steam rejected his email, stating he played for more than 2 hours. I suggested he resubmit the refund request, which he did, and it has also been denied.
What's the next step? Is he out of luck? I thought free weekends didn't count in the total gametime wrt refunds...
You can skip a lot of encounters in Mutant Year Zero as well and come back. There is one in front a tunnel that feels like it is mandatory (and is the first real hard fight in the game) that you can sneak by with some patience. The encounters in the next couple areas are easier, and with the exp and possible gear/scrap you get from those you can go clean them up.
Basically most encounters should have at max like 4-5 enemies after ambushes (and 1 or 2 of those will probably be a fodder enemy or like a melee guy that you can plan so they don't get to damage you their first turn).
Is that the one where you climb up the boxes? That was the one that surprised me with the quick jump up in level.
New day, new Epic Store thread that shows that Epic is trying to tailor store toward the developers/publishers and not doing balance between customers and developers. They have yet to show why customers would want to use their store.
It's possible they think they have a built-in audience through Fortnite.
Remind me of short indie games (emphasis on plulral) sold for 20ish? At least from 2018.Targeting teenagers or even worse younger population than that, that has no disposable income or personal credit cards is wrong. Not to mention that it will be hard to sell 12 year old 5h long indie game for 20$ when all it previously played was free 1000h game.
This is rather hyperbolic, don't you think? You could say that same of Steam. Come on.Targeting teenagers or even worse younger population than that, that has no disposable income or personal credit cards is wrong.
It's a video game store. It's no more wrong than every other one out there.Targeting teenagers or even worse younger population than that, that has no disposable income or personal credit cards is wrong. It doesn't matter. Even if you pick 1080p the image will be blurry.Say, would any of you fine chaps be able to explain why resolution calculators tell me the best option for bumping down from 2160p is 1728p? Supposedly it has something to do with "perfect" 16:9 dimensions and no half-pixel problems... but I have no idea what that means? I see lots of talk about 1800p especially on consoles before they upscale to 2160... so how come resolution calculators tell me to avoid 1800 and 1980p?
Sometimes my 1080ti struggles to render native 4K all the time so I've been using custom resolutions ranging from 1728p-1980p this whole time. Recently however with AAA games more and more shipping with resolution scale thingy, i was trying to figure out the percentage each of these resolutions is equivalent to and found that 1728p is the only one that equals out to an even percentage at 80% of 2160p.

How is Styx 2 in co-op mode? Looking to pick up the bundle but the game has pretty bad reviews.
Dunno if vr games would count, but iirc donut county is $13-15 range, the origin games are fair examples. There is also megaman 11 now that i recall. For example Fe, Unravel 2, Donut County, Far Lone Sails, Beat Saber... Their prices range from like 15-20$ and playtime are 2-5h.
I was just answering theoretically because majority of Fortnite players are teens. And if that is user base you are targeting primarily I think it is wrong for multiple reasons. At that age you don't know and honestly don't care about service you get and rights you have, you just want to play fun game with friends.
As I said I am talking theoretically if their goal is to target Fortnite players primarily.

Ummm
Dynamix viewed Tribes less as a complete product than as a proof of concept that would leave players wanting more. "We kind of looked at it as, 'We're coming from nowhere. Nobody has any idea if we can make a shooter or not. So let's make a shooter. Let's get it out there.' We didn't even put copy protection on it, on purpose, so people would go out and pirate the crap out of it, which they did."

Ooooooh i see.The tag doesn't apply to people who've replied in the thread. Everyone else sees "You need to reply to this in order to see this content."

Wouldn't this just cause people to quickly spam the forum with some bullshit post, to nab codes? It seems to set a strange incentive. I liked the rule with old modbot where it was "five posts in this thread or the one before".The tag doesn't apply to people who've replied in the thread. So I got the early access of Katamari Damacy REROLL and my first impression isn't very good. The controls and camera are horribly outdated, looks like they didn't touch them at all. Wish they'd use something simple like Super Monkey Ball, now it feels like rocket science to move where you want to. Also the game starts in low res window mode with super loud audio and you can't change settings until you complete the tutorial, but that's hopefully just an early access thing.

It's been in their name all along...I love how committed Bethesda are for doing their bit . A lesser company would have half assed their performative incompetence, but not them - they go all in . One day they will truly be remembered and respected as the Andy Kaufman of the industry .
A year of Steam/PC threads, nice.
Think it'd be worth adding a cover image for the thread? Maybe a variation of the main title image, or even just a solid gray background using the same color as the section headers.
