Saying it is negligent is letting him off the hook in a way he absolutely doesn't deserve, especially if (and maybe I missed it because there has been nothing in this thread) he has not come out and clearly and directly called the channel he promoted a white supremacist neo nazi channel and not only rescinded his promotion of the channel but made a strong statement condemning white supremacy and neo Nazism in general then we know what he was doing and why.

Add to that a tremendous financial success and you get someone who never really needed to grow up. That he is influencing other young people is the worst thing about this in my opinion. I don't know if this is an intentional downplaying tactic, but I think what you're posting amounts to trying to do everything to rationalize their comments and actions other than correctly calling them out as fascists.

Additionally, this whole PewDiePie situation demonstrates the issues with YouTube better thn anything PewDiePie can tell us. YouTube stars not being corporate comes with the negative effect of them not having any sort of vetting or oversight, which is part of how guys like PewDiePie get away with murder. The other part is that YouTube is largely apathetic to the damage he causes so long as he brings in money.
On the other hand, one of the most viewed stars on one of the world's most viewed websites using that voice to support Nazism is actually something that I think is worthy of concern
