Which is a joke
Most popular game I know of with kids right now is Fortnite and you need to pay online to play that on console
It doesn't lock kids out of anything. Especially when you figure, they can just trade with their friends using local wireless if the want
Fortnite is free on PS4. Also, are you upset that the online is free? That's....really odd.

Kanto has shit safety laws compared to Alola, I wonder how many kids die every year falling off of flying Pokemon because they don't have safety gear or saddles.

Not just flying Pokemon I'm afraid

One thing I'm confused about is lack of battles with wild pokemon,if this is too ease New users i n wouldn't you keep wild pokemon battles but have the pokemon go ball toss. Seems like you by his would keep potential players of this away from wanting to play next year's core game.

Because that's not how it was in the core games? Have you been paying attention?
Yes, but that's like the inverse of what we're talking about. On the one hand, we have people who have held on to something archaic from the original games, the 151, and pushed to have them become the focus time after time. On the other hand, you have the removal of a key element of the franchise at large in favor of a system developed in the spin-off Go game.

Anyone else who started playing from gen 1 now getting kind of sick of seeing gen 1 Pokemon? Pidgey and Rattata almost feel like a negative experience for me now :/
No, because Gen 1 IS Pokemon to me.
It is what I always think of when I think of Pokemon.
It is like Transformers. They keep releasing them, animals, power of the primes, this and that but the OG Gen 1 is where it will always be.

People have said they don't want the Go throwing mechanic and CP to replace wild battles and stats respectively, so basically they want those mechanics REMOVED. Do you get my point now?

I hope there is a good post game. The removal of wild battles and simplifying the aspects of Pokemon would not leave for many things for players to do once they beat the game. if they added a mode to battle iconic trainers that would be really nice.

I'm just going to say, by the way, that the only way I'd be happy with this project is if they added all of the later evolutions:

- Espeon
- Umbreon
- Leafeon
- Glaceon
- Sylveon
- Crobat
- Bellossom
- Politoed
- Slowking
- Steelix
- Scizor
- Kingdra
- Porygon2
- Porygon-Z
- Blissey
- Magnezone
- Lickilicky
- Rhyperior
- Tangrowth
- Electivire
- Magmortar

Heck, maybe Hitmontop as well.

Out of all the things that have more or less stayed the same since Gen 1, the Pokemon would not be the thing I am sick of.

Wild pokemon battles at their best came down to status effect and type of pokeball, it had little to do with the battle other than bringing their health down a bit, I don't see why you couldn't streamline that and emphasize some of the more fun aspects of catching pokemon.

Been playing since the beginning. I got my fill of Kanto two visits ago. Really sick of it. I just hope this is the last time for at least five years. u_u;

Also, anyone stanning for Jynx gets a side-eye from me >.>

For the actual information, just read the Eurogamer article
https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-12-15-so-what-happened-with-pokemon-stars
This is also the one that teased what Let's Go was without us even knowing it.

Pokemon is full of death though...
I don't see any Let's Go hints, and it still points to them supposedly switching plans later 2016, which would have been only after the Switch was first announced, but before the unveiling. Why would they switch if they were initially skeptical and there had been nothing to change that skepticism. Simply because they saw Zelda and Mario?

Yep. I'm pretty sick of Gen 1 at this point.

My favorites no are the ones that got some new form or variant later(Zubat, Eevee, Scyther, Charizard, etc.)

But no forget all those great Pokémon for latter gens what people want is more fucking Weedles, Seels, and Tentacools!
LEt's Go is meant to be a simple introduction to the "core" pokemon games similar to the one we had with Gen1. 150 pokes with simple evolution requirements, no held items, etc.

Those games are not really ment for us, who played this 20 years ago.
Trade evolution is still a thing.

Also how is it that new fans can grasp these concepts in every previous gen before this one because they were obviously still getting new customers.

Did anyone actually find wild Pokemon battles fun in the main series? I never did. Unless I was specifically looking to find and catch a specific Pokemon in the wild, I'd roll my eyes at every wild encounter. They're just filler. It's the trainer and gym battles that have been fun for me.

I won't miss wild battles one bit, personally.

They were tedious for me. It was so easy to catch Pokémon that most of the times I don't even need to do any moves besides some status change.

I find them more fun than trainer battles. At least in wild battles you actually have to think about which moves you use (until you get a Pokemon with false swipe), in trainer battles all you do is spam your strongest attack. The actual act of battling to faint a Pokemon isn't fun outside of the post game battle facilities and online play due to how easy it is IMO.

They were, but it's much easier with let's go, specially for little kids (3-7 years). They don't have to learn about held items, abilities, mechanics, hundreds of pokemon, tons of written dialoge (it has increased a lot in SM, Gen 1 had very little dialogue in comparison) complicated menus for the Ipad generation...

And it must feel weird coming from pokémon go and catching pokes selecting a ball with a button, or finding random pokémon, not being able to choose which to catch.

Yeah, the more I sit on it the more I feel like it's not a big deal. That being said I wish you still had to battle Pokemon like Snorlax, the Legendary Birds and Mewtwo (who knows, maybe you will).

Given that dramatic cutscene for Mewtwo it'd be kinda hilarious if it transitions to you throwing countless Pokéballs at his head with no resistance

Jynx is the absolute worst of gen 1. Of all gens really. Side note, I keep seeing people type stanning recently. What do you mean by that? In your sentence I took you to say, "standing up for Jynx". Is that what it means? Stanning = Standing?

This actually looks really cool, especially the two player mode, but the lack of wild critter fights is a deal breaker in my opinion.

I'm also not really sure about why Pokemon has to be simplified and condescending to appeal to Go players; even the more "complex" later games are easy to grasp, and even if they do get complicated they're all easy as fuck so it's not like understanding or mastery of the mechanics even matters.

I'm aware, hence why I'm not happy. I'm just not okay with them ignoring the evolutions added later for the sake of nostalgia. I like consistency in the world. These evolutions exist now, and are a part of the Pokemon world.

I'm guessing it's about being a "Stan."

Which is a term for a colossal fanboy who is basically ok with everything a company does no matter how bad it is.

See me in every Persona topic.

This is literally a game for the GO audience, and they even said outright that if you don't like this not to worry because the next core focused Pokemon games (Gen 8) are coming next year.
