Yeah, in person, his prints are really fucking beautiful, for the most part. Some of the older ones don't hold up, specifically the darker ones, due to printing, but everything in recent years has been stunning in person.I still don't have a Daniel Danger print but seeing them in person, I was shook. I had a chance to buy the black and white box set but honestly, the colors add so much.
Got the Cotton Candy Machine variant for those. They're a great diptych. It's basically the end of the year, and we should post our favorite pick-ups with some pics!
I was finally able to get the Daniel Danger Wonder Wheel/Cyclone Set this year, and it's so fucking rad, and helps me think about the few positive things about Southern Brooklyn:
Thanks! I spent way too much as well, despite cutting down drastically. And heck yeah, I kind of love the name Shame Summary 2018Just chiming in to say I agree with everything y'all are saying.
I spent way too much on prints this year to the point I had some regret pangs as of late. I'll take some photos later though and do a shame summary for the thread.
Also slug, that Wonder Wheel one is super, congrats on that pickup.

Here's what I learned in 2018: DONT JUMP HEADFIRST INTO PRIVATE COMMISSIONS. The majority are dreck, despite the commissioners themselves hyping their own shit up.I'm in four different commissions right now including two for The Office and I don't know why I am doing both.
They're all in a foamcore sandwich. But this is the Wonder Wheel:

Yeah, I've cut down on my commissions quite a bit. But there are certain people doing it who seem to always knock it out of the park. When they post something, I can't help but jump in (if it's a property I care about it).
My favourite print in general this year was a commission, Thief by Robert Sammelin:
I'm happy commissions exist because they can do so many properties that the galleries won't / can't. Adds variety. One can only take so many Blade Runner, Alien and Marvel prints from the big boys.
I think I'd pick this as my favorite pickup for the year.Super happy with how that James Jean Sun Tarot looks hung up though- it's really great. The gold bits that catch the light when the room is darker are a really nice touch.
I've had one for a few months, I love it. So convenient if you're lacking storage space.Just pre-ordered the baroque portfolio; I'll comment on quality once it gets here!
This poster was originally planned for release at MondoCon 2015. Three years later and it's still just as gorgeous and perfect of a poster as it was all those years ago. I think we had alluded at MondoTalk in 2016 that that there was a poster pending approval that many, if not all, agreed was the best poster Mondo had ever done... this is it. Praise be for Martin Ansin.
That Sachin Teng Mega Man is real cool- one of those prints I kind of want but know it would just live in a tube or portfolio (still no flat file here... maybe one day).
Oh goddamnit. I was hyped to go to this because I had in my head the Roxie Theater that Spoke Art uses for screenings in San Francisco. For the NYC folks, there's going to be a screening of Blade Runner at The Roxy Theater by Bottleneck.
They'll be debuting a new print collab with Justin Ishmael and Silence TV.
Filthy Slug, you going?
Yeah, I should totally be there! Please pray that there's no rain. For the NYC folks, there's going to be a screening of Blade Runner at The Roxy Theater by Bottleneck.
