CBS is uh...pretty fucking late for this to be "Breaking News." In fact it's already broken because Mark Meadows is now singing a different tune, as he was the original source.
UPDATE 71: Chris Christie checked himself into hospital as a precautionary measure after testing positive for COVID19.
He could spend his last few years in constant agony due to all the damage COVID did to his lungs and stuff. Imagine. The poor chap. The old fellow. In constant pain. 24/7. Poor sap. Can you imagine? Terrifying. Fie! Fie! Perish the thought of him being in anguishing pain every time he breathes.
So hopefully he dies.
Let's hope he doesn't get away so easily.
Was there an update on the hospital food being all gone as well?

Apparently, they showed up on late so they couldn't get tested for COVID. You have to think by then they knew, right? lol
Skip the violently transphobic episode, though. (Which is sadly the one where the non-transphobic plotline has one of the funniest jokes I've ever seen on TV.)
He has a fever. The "just as a precautionary measure" excuse is bullshit. He's symptomatic.
Interesting that of the confirmed causes from a superspreader event, the most overweight of the confirmed cases have both now speedrun into hospitals. Weight appears to be the biggest multiplier for COVID affects.
Wouldn't anyone else be told to go back home and quarantine themselves if they're asymptomatic / having mild symptoms? Even if the person went in as a precautionary measure?
These people really are showing their privilege.
If only we all had the luxury of being admitted to the hospital as a precautionary measure without the worry of going bankrupt.

Actually, it's more that they're trying to put a spin on things so they don't have to admit that the disease is kicking their ass.
I hope so, because this day has been chaotic to follow information in a clear fashion. In fact, CBS does have an earlier tweet referring to Meadows' remarks as they happened.
Either CBS pulled a Slowpoke here, or they have in fact found a second source backing up Meadows' original response.

In the US are you allowed to simply occupy a hospital room on your own request even if you don't need to be there? That's not usually how hospitals work in other countries.

So how believable is it really that someone like Christie is in the hospital just for precautionary reasons? I understand normally you don't do that, but do high profile (imagine me doing air quotes) politicians get special treatment that involves staying at a hospital?
Deepfake technology is about to put in some overtime work when we get a likeness actor and Trump impersonator communicating to us through video communication only.
I dunno if he predicted it, but he definitely had a hunch.
