Oh sweet! Mac and Garbage Day. I just met the star of Silent Night Deadly Night 2 at a convention back in May. Super nice guy who is very thankful that the movie has become a cult classic.

I'm disappointed there's not a regular bad Christmas movie this year.

I'd love for them to do another kids-movie BotW but make it Christmas themed.

Hey, that's actually impressive voice work. The Palp impression kinda fell apart halfway through, but that's still a solid villain voice. They should let him voice one on one of those weird cartoons they sometimes do.

Mikes done the voice before on an old hitb. The did a skit where Plinkett was sharing his home with Palpatine.

This Palpatine was a much more serious impression.
The voice he used in the old videos seemed to channel Seth McFarlane's Robot Chicken voice more than Ian McDiarmid.

My mom also cuts vegetables like that lady did in Iced. Way faster, and has never cut herself once doing it. It's weird but it works.

I looked up the Siskel and Ebert segment about 'Silent Night, Deadly Night' and it was more preachy than the clip in BOTW made it seem

Siskel shames the writer, director and producer by name.

Looking them up

The writer didnt do anything other than 'Silent Night, Deadly Night'

The director went on to do a bunch of religious stuff later in life (maybe guilt for his earlier movies?)

The producer was a MEDICAL DOCTOR who went into show business

Ebert ends the review talking about how those people should be ashamed and how they should explain to their kids and grandkids how they could make such a movie. That seemed like a bit of bullshit to me. Like it obviously aint a movie for kids.

When I met the star of Silent Night Deadly Night 1, he said he showed the movie to his kids once, and they asked to never see it again. Not because of the violence or anything, but what kid wants to see their dad naked and having sex?

I think we've reached peak-Mike at the end of that BotW. lol. Also, Mac was drunk as fuck by the end of that roundtable. Slurring all of the words.

Shame the movies themselves weren't more entertaining.

Aye, it's gotten old. I expect him to do it now, so is he really being contrarian anymore?
I'm not sure that it's "getting old", so much as it was the exact same thing as what happened in the previous episode. They watch a movie that is mostly boring, but a percentage of the movie is amazing -> Everyone says it wins by a landslide, but Mike rejects the movie for it's boring part and picks the sex-pervert movie instead.

Jay already had enough of that in the last episode, so by this episode he's just being dismissive, but I think Mike felt attacked in both episodes, because his interpretation of the BOTW rules is valid (it's not about quality movies, it's about entertainment value, so terrible sex-pervert movies are valid contenders, while the dragging part of the partially-amazing movie drags down it's overall score).

Thinking of sex-perverts, I was amused to see Mike trying to pin another sex-pervert thing onto Rich (the porn star shrine thing), and Rich valiantly fought back this time with a "No U", and Mike turned it back on Rich with a "Yeah me" and gave Rich a creepy pervert stare. Rich is simply ill-equipped to battle against Mike in this area.

Nah the rest of the table is 100% right to call out Mike's shtick at this point. It's played-out.
"Getting old" and "played out" would suggest that Mike hit that button too many times, and that it's not funny anymore, but I think this more relied on specific circumstances. Like, Mike is getting somewhat predictable (Jack predicted Mike's twist in the previous episode), but right now it's mostly due to coming right after his previous blow-up with Jay, and his blow-up with Jay was partially based on Jay believing that one movie was the slam-dunk winner and not considering that any other contenders could be possible. Basically, I don't think Mike hit the button too many times, it was just really noticeable the last time he did it, so this time everyone was on the alert for it. Also, Mike telegraphed it into oblivion by checking the box for the name he forgot.

Also, I'm not sure Mike's deliberately "doing a bit" here, since Mike's explanation for his reasoning is fairly reasonable, and Jay attacking Mike for it (both this time and the previous) seemed to really get under Mike's skin in a way that doesn't often happen. Although Mike might being doing a bit unconsciously, since he's apparently a contrarian by nature.

Are we expecting a HitB review for SW? I know Plinkett was sort of saying he'd skip it, but there's no way he will. I could see HitB not making one, but that ad revenue.

so let me get this straight

they made Rey a Palpatine and killed off all the Skywalkers so Rey could steal the name
