Sorry for the double post
But you quoted me and this was my response to your idea of a warning.
"Ok, yea it didn't specify. You right, but my point still stands. And I'm not complaining here.. (I actually don't play fortnite but my kids do). I'm saying they should have put a specific warning on the PS4 version before making an account that would eventually lock you out of other specific platforms. That would've solved everything. Sure you would still have the policy situation, but at least people would have known.
It's their job to make sure that their community doesn't become "hostage" by a policy that they knew of before the consumer did. Not to tell you that shit when it's too late, after trying to get it up in the Switch. Sony has a policy that needs updating for the current gaming climate and Epic needs to work harder for their community so that this doesn't happen again. No excuses."
I agree that they should have, but acknowledge that they couldn't have, not only via language, but via timing. This was not relevant until the Xbox One version received Crossplay/Cross Progression, which if i recall, was in March. It wouldve shafted anyone who had played on PSN before then, because they would not have gotten a warning, just a notification that they are locked there, and heck, even without it people were able to figure that out pretty quickly on both ends.
As ive stated, you are right that it's Epics job, and they'd probably do it too if it was in their power to do so. I believe there is a fairly solid case for why they don't, though.
Yup. I check the thread when there has been some activity, hoping to see an update but all I see is Groundhog Day. Seems this discussion has met its end and should probably be locked.
I look forward to the Rocket League Cross Party thread where none of the arguments that are in here will work, and where all the arguments from the previous threads on Rocket League Crossplay are outdated. That one won't even last past 30 pages cause there won't be nearly as much opposition beyond people not caring (or at least i'd hope).
