Wait... whats up with those %s lol. Thats not a total of 100%
If Democrats lose this time, it will be on the party and the voters. The Dem party is too divided and regardless of who the nominee is, I honestly don't see unity.> Bloomberg buying out this election and can run as a feasible third party candidate
> Moderates doing the Republican's job of socialist fear mongering
> Liberal media personalities getting close to Fox News levels of unbearable
If Bernie gets the nom and loses to Trump, I don't think it's his policy or even the Republicans who will be to blame... Class solidarity will triumph over the general good once again.
Probably a 1. 2. 3. voting system or something
I mean, personally I love Sanders demeanor because it's a reflection of how I feel about the system. I guess it just seems like he comes off as abrasive to a lot of people. But maybe that's just the media rotting my brain? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯literally what.
sanders' demeanor and righteous anger is half his appeal what is this post lol
The question wasn't 'who did best', it was 'who impressed you'. I assume everyone polled was asked about every single candidate and whether they felt 'impressed' or not. Someone could say they were impressed by both Sanders and Klobuchar, for instance, which is why this doesn't add up to 100
Ah okay, a weird way of polling that kind of dataThe question wasn't 'who did best', it was 'who impressed you'. Seems to be confirmation that everyone attacking Sanders just made people like him more lol. Biden just about as impressive. Seems like this debate won't have much effect on the two candidates who are fighting for the top spot. This could be good news for Sanders!
Multiple choice I'm guessing.
i think there is a subset of people that do find it abrasive, yeah. but i think most people like and identify with itI mean, personally I love Sanders demeanor because it's a reflection of how I feel about the system. I get that, but he was so fucking obnoxious.IMO, the same way assholes at school/work/anywhere gain popularity. People are drawn to cocky douchebags for whatever reason.

I guess Sanders didn't do that poorly after all, which I'm happy about.
I assume people could select multiple answers.
I only watched a little bit, but them continually bringing up his thoughts on Castro was so disingenuous. You'd literally have to have no reasoning skills to believe Sanders was promoting authoritarian rule on 60 Minutes a few days ago.
also was it just me or was the moderation truly awful?
He did fine, but not great. He stumbled on an incredibly easy attack on Bloomberg which was a little disappointing. But then again it was in response to an incredibly flubbed attack from Bloomberg...I've never seen anybody poll so high and do so poorly in a debate.I was at a Smash weekly and didn't watch this shit, and based on what I've read I should be grateful.
But someone give it to me straight: did Sanders do bad, or just mediocre? Because he can afford to be mediocre; Biden got away with it for months.
If there's anything, anything, we should have learned from 2016 it's that running a campaign on the message of "Hey, at least I'm not that other candidate!" is not particularly compelling.i think one the things about everyone going after bernie, even if you could argue bernie had mixed results responding to all the attacks, is that it just further cements this image that there's Bernie, and then there's Everyone Else. But Everyone Else isn't a candidate that's running. And all the Everyone Else voters are still splitting their votes, and the Bernie voters know who they like. Honestly I feel like the most visible element of Pete's campaign right now is "here's why Bernie shouldn't be the nominee." That's not really a winning ticket
It would be one thing if we had the more typical 2-4 major candidates, or if the other candidates distinguished themselves in more dramatic ways, but that's just not the current case. Other than I guess Bloomberg having the distinction of being a uniquely fucked candidate that bought himself relevance and has no business running for the democratic ticket
One of the best arguments I've seen for M4A, I wonder if we're going to see it used at a debate at some point.
No doubt Bernie missed two great opportunities tonight regarding M4A and 60's politics. Pete would have been BTFO'd had Bernie brought up the Civil Rights Movement and Stonewall. All the candidates similarly would have been left reeling if Bernie brought up the usefulness of a M4A system being in place in a scenario where COVID 19 gets worse in the USA. His team definitely needs to coach him on these lines of attack in the future.Pete having a distaste for the "radical" political movements of the 1960s is on-brand.
The moderation was probably some of the worst we've had in this entire primary season and people notice it, too. Just a couple of weeks ago a white boomer in New Hampshire specifically told Ari Melber on air that their biased coverage against Bernie specifically made her decide to vote for Bernie. People aren't as easily misled as we think... on the Democratic side at least.I only watched a little bit, but them continually bringing up his thoughts on Castro was so disingenuous. You'd literally have to have no reasoning skills to believe Sanders was promoting authoritarian rule on 60 Minutes a few days ago.

Wait, is that of this debate? Didn't do as badly as we expected, even... won?
sometimes getting attacked by everyone can work out ok, especially if you handle it the best you canWait, is that of this debate? Didn't do as badly as we expected, even... won?
Kinda glad?
Yeah. I'm no longer as invested with politics and candidates as I was in 2016, Trump's election changed me I guess. Pete seems the most dangerous candidate after Bloomberg on the Democratic but I'm not exactly whooping his odds are diminished, it's just no longer as personal. Trump is still president, until that changes hard to celebrate, I only care that Trump loses in 2020.
He did fine, but not great. He stumbled on an incredibly easy attack on Bloomberg which was a little disappointing. But then again it was in response to an incredibly flubbed attack from Bloomberg...I've never seen anybody poll so high and do so poorly in a debate.
He was usually good about pivoting to his message, but he needed to do better at pointing out the hypocrisy in the attacks against him.
All in all, could've gone much worse and he certainly did much better than Bloomberg, Amy or Pete.
SC is going to be veeeery interesting. Is this where Biden makes a comeback, or are people being swayed by the fact that he seems out of his mind at times.
I just know southern states scare me because he had huge numbers in polls.
Anyone have a clip or timestamp of Bernie calling out that audience member over Cuba?
