Yeah even when played natively on Steam it forces you to use the UPlay (whatever it's called nowadays) app in almost every caseDon't most Ubisoft games force you to run Ubisoft Connect anyway? This isn't a big deal to me.

Oh yeah, or I'll be doing this. Spending 15 Euros once to play the game for a couple of hours and cancelling the sub is far better than spending 70+ Euros on the game and have it be tied to Ubisofts horrendous launcher.
Make it 20€Yep, really looking forward to this but it's not like there's a shortage of games to play.
Gonna be awesome to have the absolute best experience with it in 2025 for $50
It'll be tied to the horrendous launcher even if you buy it to Steam, just like every other (newer) Ubi game that's on the launcher
I thought the launcher just runs in the background though?
It is just a comfort thing for me: installing a game via Steam is "easier" than installing Ubi launcher, installing the game through it and adding the game as a non-Steam game to Steam.
It's a typical first world problem, I'll admit that much! :D
As long there isn't some bullshit EGS exclusivity deal I don't really care if publisher keep game on their launcher, or also farms it out to everything with .exe.
Never understood "Not on Steam? Game does not exist" purists.
They always come off about as pompous as the librarian in star wars lol
Star Wars license p much guarantees great sales no matter what tho
If there's a hard/non-background launcher like Ubisoft Connect/Uplay or EA Origin, I'm not getting it on Steam.
I think people overstate how many people will wait till a Steam version for big titles. AC Valhalla was Ubisoft's biggest PC launch ever, wasn't on Steam. Battlefront 1 & 2 I'm sure sold very well and they weren't available on Steam. Same with Battlefield 1/4 which are the most successful Battlefield games I'd say and they were only on Origin . And BF is more PC centric I think (or was).Counter argument with IP like Star Wars is that they don't need Steam to move serious amounts of copies. Hardcore fans will be there day 1, and there is a lots of them for SW.
So you're not buying it because it's too cumbersome to use multiple launchers but you'll still play it on Ubisoft Connect ?I want to play it on Steam. Period.
I have a bunch of games in the Ubi Launcher but I don't really use it. It's just cumbersome using so many launchers these days.
If they do not sell it on other PC store fronts the market will take care of it. Maybe. Maybe not. Either way, I am looking forward what Massive brings to the Star Wars Sabacc table to be honest.

I might be doing the same with Mirage, if it's not coming to Steam at launch.
I'll be there day 1 no question.
There's no fanboy funnier to me than the launcher fanboy.
Seems like licensed games are just Ubi because they probably can attract a lot of players and growing their player network is great. I'm sure Jedi Survivor would have sold as well on PC if it was just on Origin. A bit less, obviously. So weird. Some games come back to Steam this year, others are Ubi and EGS, others are Ubi only. Bizarre stuff.
This fanboy nonsense again...I'll be there day 1 no question.

I'm thinking Epic is winding down their exclusivity buying program so AC and Crew may have been paid for previously. Or they were cheaper. So weird. Some games come back to Steam this year, others are Ubi and EGS, others are Ubi only. Bizarre stuff.
Exactly! That's the first thing that came to mind when I learned Ubisoft was developing it. Here's hoping it won't be downgraded though.I expect it to be downgraded massively before it releases though, let's see what it looks like come launch. Smells like another Watch Dogs.
