explains why Rose and Steven have all these abilities which includes linking to Diamonds
Oh shit, remember when Pearl flipped out in Rose's Scabbard when she found out Lion belonged to Rose. Garnet said Rose kept secrets from everyone, and Pearl replied "But not from me!"
Turns out she had a very good freaking reason to think Rose would never keep anything from her. She's the only one who knew Rose's biggest secret: that she was Pink Diamond.
But if Rose trusted Pearl with her biggest secret, then why did she keep Lion secret? Was it a way to store Bismuth? Was it to store the chest?
What's in the chest?! What's in the fuckingboxchest?!
Two new episodes just hit. Pretty good ones too.

There are so many disturbing implications to this.
If you think about it, what was done was kind of sick. So many lives affected and so many lives lost. Garnet was right. Pink Diamond was a coward.
ROSE IS PINK DIAMOND.
There's actually very little filler in Steven Universe.Unbelievable.
Being a Steven Universe fan means dealing with a lot of filler and stupidity and bullshit, but when the show hits, it hits HARD.
I don't agree with that at all, the vast majority of episodes build the world, develop the characters or Steven's relationship with them etc., there are very few episodes that add nothing to the show.I'd like to describe it as "filler" with hard quotation marks. It's relevant later, but that doesn't mean it doesn't feel like padding in the moment & drags the show down.
If pink never met Greg how would she have reacted to the red eye, and peridot trying to repair the warp, and eventually blue diamond mourning.
So she was able to hide from Sapphire's/Garnet's future vision this entire time? That is pretty impressive
Nope, these episodes didn't really do much for me either. They were informative, but so much of this revelation was padded out by Steven simply not asking enough questions. I was actually hoping Rose wouldn't end up being Pink, but whatever.Sigh.
Am i alone on not feeling the hype because this had been figured out since, like, season 2 or so?
Rose Quartz = Pink Diamond was planned before the show even started production. Now that I think about it Rose telling Greg that she's not a real person just got even realer than it was before

other from the people who called it celebrating (?) i think the bigger draw now is the implications from such an action and how it is now viewed.
Instead of this rebellion they could feel a bit proud about now seems pretty empty.

While I like that Rose was Pink in a "things will change on a second viewing" kind of way, it does sadly remove some of the nuance the show really needed. I still need to think it through though

Right. Watching the show is like two nibbles of Filet Mignon between large bowls of oatmeal.
But the Filet Mignon is so good, you keep coming back.
Some of us like oatmeal :P
Especially with the liberal amounts of sugar dumped into it.
Pink's reasoning may be at least partially selfish, but I think she was also genuinely trying to free the Gems on earth.
The real fuckup was not realizing just how much the DIamonds loved her.
12 episodes later, Steven finds Lapis again.
"Are the diamonds still coming?"
"Oh don't, worry, I'm a diamond "
Lapis screams into the inky void.

btw, Jasperedemtion is all but confirmed at this point and I'm very excited.
