Seems like a good idea to get a pro controller for the majority of use, to try and extend the life of the joycons.
I also had this issue. I believe my issue was caused by incorrectly inserting the joycon strap pieces. It wore down the plastic lock. I actually sent my joycons in to get repaired and they fixed them perfectly. Will not use joycon straps ever again. Both of my sticks have been fine, and none of the buttons are sticking or anything like that. I am having an issue with my Left Joycon where it doesn't fully latch onto the side of my Switch, so it'll slide up a tiny bit and can probably be taken off the entire thing if I applied enough force.
That's my problem with the left one. It did get worse. I bought a hori d-pad joycon, I was worried my Switch would fall out of my hands because of this.I noticed my joycons slipping a little on the side of my Switch when playing in handheld mode. Hope it doesn't get worse...
Same and launch system as well. I just use the joycons in handheld or tablet mode, and pro controller or GameCube controller for tv. I play handheld 90% of the time anyway.
