My question wasn't, "What do you think of review scores?" It was, "Why do you think BP is the highest rated Marvel movie on Metacritic and released to widespread critical acclaim?"I gave you my answer. And my answer is that scores don't seem to matter much when it comes to these nominations.
I've seen so many shitty movies with a high RT score and so many decent movies with a lower score.
They put out screeners early for critics and film orgs and such.
The answer is *insert assorted complaints about CG*.Not sure what the salt about Black Panther being nominated when it is one of the most critically acclaimed movies released this year. So the "doesn't deserve to be there" tones in the thread is just...telling.

Michael B. Jordan should have gotten a supporting actor nomination.
Black Panther absolutely doesn't deserve best picture, but the fact it was nominated at all is pretty damn cool.

Critics get early screenings for movies.
True and it's a god damn shame. She deserves every award for that performance. All of them.Elsie Fisher getting nominated is great though. That's the kind of nomination that makes me glad the Globes exist because that's sure as shit not gonna happen at the Oscars.
Both of them did a Steve Jobs movie.
Cool music
It did, but the Globes also nominated The Tourist one year which has 20% on Rotten Tomatoes
Infinity War was the better marvel movie.Pretty much how I feel. I really think Infinity War is better all around but...
Oh god I just had flashbacks of watching that trash movie in theaters. It did, but the Globes also nominated The Tourist one year which has 20% on Rotten Tomatoes
Globes got scared about viewership and went all MTV Movie Awards this year. Not like their picks haven't been suspect for a while considering their dumb split categories for films and actors/actresses.
It's a super hero movie that is no where near as good as other movies from that same company. Not sure what the salt about Black Panther being nominated when it is one of the most critically acclaimed movies released this year. Don't know why people are taking issue with Black Panther. It's probably the third best film in its category.

I feel like the only reason it's there is to stave off social media backlash and articles talking about "are they out of touch for not nominating black panther".
No one wants another Oscars So White equivalent.
how it handled the subject matter, it should be
I guess that's what happens when the guy who made Dumb and Dumber directs it. That sucks.
That's besides the point I'm making. There's other films people should be taking issue with besides BP, which makes total sense to have been nominated if you know how the Golden Globes work. These nominees are hilarious. Black panther and bohemian rhapsody? Seriously?
Its an average marvel movie, but with a villain that has an interesting motive. That's about it.
The Kutcher one was seen as way more inaccurate in its portrayal of people and retelling of events
Supporting actor is stacked. How would he fit in?
And there it is...again. So ignoring the critical acclaim for the movie, you'd simply reduce the nomination to appeasing race baiters?
