Oh hell yes i do. Doom and gloom to the crazies.

TLOU showed me hope in a dying world. Hoping this one shows me the same. Even if the entire journey is full of killing

There will be much killing along the way, but we gotta do what we gotta yabba dabba do.

I think the graphics and animation are getting to a point that they are so realistic that people are having a hard time watching them. It's a curious time when they are only gonna get more and more realistic. What do you think about the violence in RE2? Granted we didn't get a good look, but do you feel differently?

Last of us 2 is going for violence for the sake of violence
The guy in the video got shot like 5 times with arrows and was hit + on his knees already dying pretty much
Then she slice him and do it again to cut off his head? Wtf

If anything the people in the world need protection from her. She is the enemy lol

Come on...lets be honest. he has a point. a downgrade Is a downgrade.

Even if its a 10 seconds teaser.

Uh, not really though. The first trailer of UC4 was basically a target render/tech demo. Obviously Last of Us 2 will change, but to assume it will be downgraded based on UC4's history is silly. This was gameplay. UC4 wasn't. A better comparison is something like Watch_Dogs or The Division, which was running on high-end PC hardware and then downgraded later on. Naughty Dog doesn't really have a history of putting out a gameplay demo and then downgrading later.

Especially when really all they had to do was kick the block out from under him to hang em. But he gets stabbed, guts ripped out and hung all at the same time. Regardless game looks phenomenal but yeah a bit over the top in the violence a bit.

Because humans gonna human, especially when the execution is tied to some sort of religious belief or other ideology. History is chock full of humans using elaborate rituals and over-the-top methods of dispatching one another, especially those they deem criminal or otherwise "other".

I mean, there's certainly room to debate whether that kind of depiction is worth reproducing in a video game, but I don't necessarily see it as over-the-top for what humans do to each other on the daily. Hell, currently the President of the U.S. is bragging about how excellent his relationship is with a dictator who literally has his enemies blown to bits with anti-aircraft guns. People are fucked up.

The killing in this is so grotesque and holds so much weight considering it's graphic fidelity and context.

I assume Naughty Dog wants us to squirm seeing these trailers.

Honestly I really don't buy that they designed the character after hiring the actress.

Well, I guess Neil lied straight to our faces then. Anyway, they went with a strong/smart black female character.

Also Elly being gay was relegated to the DLC until this year, and the other gay characters partner was dead as well.

Ellie being officially shown as gay in LB doesnt suddenly make her straight in TLOU. Once the cat was out of the bag it changed everything and it automatically made Ellie a gay female character in TLOU as well.

Also, even if subtle, Bill was a promiment character who also happened to be gay. I don't think Frank being dead takes anything away from it. And tonight, the TLOU2 demo spoke for itself.

I think Neil is doing pretty well in that area considering TLOU is a AAA game made by one of the most popular game studios today.

The scene in the dance hall had no implied homophobia. All it showed was Ellie being bashful dancing with a popular girl.

There could be a homophobic plot line but there's no indications from that scene.
Im glad to be wrong if that's the case. Though I would not like a homophobic plotline. Maybe more of a jealous of gf plotline than homophobia. Looking forward to seeing more

In the crafting menu there's a pistol with a suppressor attached to it. You couldn't attach suppressors in TLoU1 could you?

I really like what they've done with the UI overall. Very clean.

i think it was in the MP but not the SP? Not that I remember anyway.

People complaining about the violence and brutality in The Last of Us... were you guys expecting this one to be less brutal than the first entry? Seriously? The world of TLoU is supposed to be this brutal.

The game also seems pretty far along. I remember Neil saying the game was around 60 percent done around December (PSX)

A June release a year from now is not unlikely for it. Also since both ND teams merged for this game once TLL finished.

They completely outclassed Shadow of the Tomb Raider with that gameplay demo. I even heard Giantbomb discussing it. It felt way more grounded and gritty and consequential. It was intense where SotT was by the numbers. At least going by the trailers.

Well done ND.

Incredible graphics but somehow I preferred the gameplay of the new LaraCroft. Maybe because she was able to jump from high height to kill her enemies ? Don't know, but a bit boring here the gameplay (not talking about the intensity of the action but the abilities of the heroines).
Anyway, both games made think of Rambo, hehe.

I'll just say that if they kill that new girl it definitely is a two steps forward, one step back situation and they will and should be called out for it. And we'd be 0-for-3 for TLOU gay characters having alive partners lol

Purely on graphics, nothing beat it this E3. Hands down. Cyber Punk has potential, but yeah, no gameplay of that. No other game beat it, though Spiderman is SUPER fucking close. That looked damn good!

Rewatching it, the camera work is simply sublime. The way it pulls in and pulls out to heighten the tension, transition from animation to animation. I'm just amazed.

This is probably the only game at e3 that lived up to my insanely high expectations. Anthem is a close second but that downgrade didn't help while tlou looks insane.

The combat is exactly what i wanted but the level of detail here is not only unmatched in games but also tv and movies. Notice the way she slowly corks her gun before shooting her through he cheeks. Notice the arrows sticking out of the heavy. The incredible god of war like third person combat. It's brilliant. The Cutscene was wonderful too. Neil and naughty dog are up there with the likes of breaking bad, Westworld. Game of thrones as some of the best storytellers in the business.

The freaking graphics are too detailed and realistic to freaking behead people
The first one was not this realistic (ps3 game After all)

Dunno man that was kinda too violent for me :/

This.
The worst moment of the gameplay. It was free and gore. This blade deep in his opened throat with blood flowing. Damn.
Are people so used to realistic violences nowadays.

I actually don't mind the violence in RE2. It's mostly just blood spatters and zombies with decomposing bodies. I can very easily separate that from the torture porn that is TLoU2.

The previous trailer they showed was also overdone, especially when they brought out the hammer. I don't enjoy torture porn or body horror, and that's what this game appears to be, so it's just not for me.

Very happy to see gameplay. Loved the smooth transitions and animations. Hoping that is going to play out like that in the final game.

However, I'm very worried with the current state with regards to AAA games.

I'm happy that Naughty Dog is sticking to its guns and having same-sex relationship in the game. However, why is it that most developers make the rest of the world homophobic?
Obviously not the entire world, but most of it.

During the trailer, when the other women mentioned that people were looking at them, it shows me that the world still isn't open to same-sex relationships.

Why do most games make such a bleak outlook of the world when we have been progressing well recently (obviously, not in all places is completely well especially in the US after the SCOTUS rulings)?

The game doesn't have to be realistic and I don't like seeing the constant strife that is caused by being outcasted become of same-sex relationships but even in TLOU they make the world look so bleak post-apocalyptic.

Am I wrong and just blind to (AAA) games that are open about it and have worlds that are accepting of it, or will this continue to be the norm? The status quo being constantly maintained that same-sex relationships are frowned upon?
Ellie didn't say people were staring at them. She said they were staring at her (the new character) and it was boys who were looking, presumably because of her looks. Nothing to do with the fact that it was two females.

Naughty Dog makes the best combat animations in gaming, but to me it comes at the a cost of combat feel and mechanics. I don't think it could be done any better. It's just the price of that cinematic style.

Unless I can bring myself to finish the first one I think I'll pass.

Combat gameplay didn't do much for me. I really liked the first game, but this reveal didn't work well for me.

I need it in context I think. Plus it's pretty much like the first game in gameplay.

Too bad they didn't show infected enemies, the human ones are more boring.

Yeah, I would be happy if that was the case. Such a cute couple.

Like I said, I'm hoping to be wrong but with how gritty and dark the game is, im wondering if the scenes during the kiss represent what she recalls during her quest for revenge

I guess that UC4 love demo snafu is why they don't do live..people criticized how it was embarrassing and doubt the game will be able to function or realistically maintain what was presented. So they do a previously recorded perfect run demo and people doubt the game will be able to function or realistically maintain what was being presented. I love this forum.

I didn't like gameplay demo to be honest. It felt too scripted and I expected more than just combat demo. Game is more than that.

Gameplay looks just like TLOU1 but with more brutal combat (and dodges apparently)
