Everything Kimmel did that was bad was for a TV show (so bits written by others and he was acting them out). As far as I know there isn't anything bad on Kimmel from his personal life like the Gunn tweets.
Are you trying to moderate me? The fact is his posts became mainstream and Disney fired him. It's over.
Also , who finds the tweets doesn't matter if they were not mainstream and were made mainstream and were disgusting, the author does have to deal with consequences, content matters , not who finds it

Stop acting like the alt-right goons are pulling one over on people just because they exposed something. If there's nothing to expose, these tactics do not work.
Yup this is as much a show of support for Gunn, then a real action against Disney. As others have said, it will require cast to get involved
They already tried this with Jimmy Kimmel. Several times, I think. There was a petition to boycott Kimmel that had something like 200,000 signatures. They even got the dummy Sean Hannity in on it.

So you were fully aware of these tweets that, to most of us, seemingly just got "unearthed?" All of the articles people are linking to from a few years ago certainly did not mention these particular, much nastier, tweets and posts.
Nah, I'll pass. Petitions like this are laughable anyways and never work. If Disney wants him back (which they definitely will not be doing) the petition isn't going to do jack shit.

And comedians who often make their money with telling offensive jokes (Gunn was a Troma writer for heaven's sake) more than anyone else. If this is the standard you want, then you are just as guilty as Gunn. Patton Is. Silverman is. They are retweeting decade old tweets of them right now, in this very moment.
Basically every single Comedian in the world is fucked. Stephen Merchant, Matt Stone, Bob Saget, doesn't really matter. They are all done for, they all have to be fired and shunned. If these people WANT to find something on someone, they WILL find something on someone. And if you once made offensive shit for a small circle of fans who liked you for making offensive shit? I mean... when you boil it down, I think that's the only reason people are pushing to get Gunn rehired. If he didn't direct Marvel movies, I bet a lot of folks willing to forgive and forget wouldn't be posting about this at all.
Professional work is different then tweets on a personal Twitter account, especially when it's not clear at all if you're doing a bit or whatever.
Either way, that still does not clarify whether anyone here or in Disney knew about these set of tweets that go to some pretty far extremes, even when compared to his "fictional super heroes I want to fuck" blog post that seemed to be the primary driver behind the heat he got in last time around.

I was an adult back in his Troma and PG Porn days, yeah if you knew his name back then you knew what he liked to spout. He never hid that part of his past and evolved quite a bit since then.
Working on Troma movies is not the same as tweeting that kind of shit from your personal twitter account and presenting them as views of your own.
I don't think that's true at all. I think context matters. I also think Gunn will be just fine and have a fine career going forward if he chooses to stick with it and continue to seek out work. Plenty of people still like him and are happy to support him. Him not directing the next big comic book movie is not the end of the world and it's not even damaging to social progress. He will be fine, he will continue to have influence, and he will continue to be an ally to progress and decry Trump. He just won't be working for Disney in the immediate future.

He did. When he made them , his tweets and his apology was not mainstream. They became mainstream now. He didn't suffer consequences then and was awarded big director contracts and apparently now he is suffering the consequences of his words
I meant that if you knew his name from what he did you knew the kinds of jokes he made. They were indefensible then and now. But he is a changed man. That should always count when you're holding someone accountable for pas misdeeds.
