Zero doesn't spoil anything you wouldn't already know from HF 1+2, so if you've already watched those movies you're fine.
Binged all the episodes of Kono Oto Tomare so far and it's...pretty good?
The production is mediocre to downright bad sometimes and the direction is often cheesy (love how they tried to make koto performances exciting lol) but I like the characters and the story is progressing nicely. What surprised me the most was how quickly the characters develop and how much they communicate. Shows would spend an entire cour getting the team to become buddy buddy and be full of miscommunication drama but they resolve those fairly quickly here. Kinda refreshing.

DTL might like this, but I'm not sure about you guys cuz you may not like this "macho" anime, but lol.
Continues to be one of Jump Squares best series. Excellent anime pacing of a monthly series.
I thought the performance in front of the whole school was the best. Smiled and cried for them a lot.
Love the drama and the friendship quickly formed with chika.
Itd pretty fun. Love the main trio or group of four I guess. Good blend of fantasy with modern society.

Yeah that performance felt like a major end of season climax. Yet it was in the 5th episode. I'm glad they didn't waste any time with the new girl either. I really like this kind of pacing.
Don't the guy on the left and guy on the right have basically the same character design and haircut, it's just that their hair happens to be different colours? Demand more from your character designs!

Ok thanks. I'll watch HF1 and then the sequel in August when it's out here in the west, before starting Zero.
Any stand-alone Fate series people would recommend in the meantime? Am I able to jump in to Carnival Phantasm or Apocrypha for instance?
Apocrypha is basically standalone, since it takes place in an alternate universe. So it should be fine. I watched it before Stay/Night and it was fine.
But it's also a very divisive show. I like it for it's incredible and creative action visuals as well as some fun characters, but it's undoubtedly a slog with an overarching plot that doesn't really work all that well and an incredibly bland protagonist. And the very same visuals I like also turn a lot of people off.
Must be one of those spring days where it's simultaneously hot and cold.
I'd recommend Apocrypha because the second half of it has some of the best action set-pieces I've seen in an anime, especially ep 22 which is an absolute masterpiece. Swerve Last Encore though, it's trash. And also swerve the Illya anime series unless you want to end up in jail.
It's not Fate, but I'd also recommend the Garden of Sinners (Kara no Kyoukai) movie series which is also created by Nasu and animated by ufotable. I think you'd enjoy that.

I don't know a single thing about Fate except that I'm probably gonna need to do a bit of prerequisite viewing before that Grand Order anime in October with literally the entire imas/darlifra crew
Apo is almost entirely stand alone so that should be fine.
Of the others
Emiya Cooking is chill and doesn't require anything other than just being familiar with the characters, although it kinda spoils one relatively minor HF twist
You'll get more out of Carnival Phantasm if you're familiar with Tsukihime and it does spoil a couple twists in Heaven's Feel 1/2
The Illya anime is for lolicons
The creators of Last Encore claimed it would be accessible to newcomers but that was a lie. Only watch this if you've played Fate/Extra and CCC, you've read the production material guides/wiki entries, and if Nero is your waifu.

Finally started watching Carole & Tuesday. I knew I would like it, but I didn't know I would love it so much after just the first episode.

What this is makes more sense when you know this is the latest in ComicFesta's series of anime shorts adapting their porn manga - they all have a censored version that airs on TV and an uncensored version that streams on their online service. Previous entries include (loosely translated) "Sweet Punishment: I am the Warden's Personal Pet", about a woman who has sex with the warden of her prison, "After the Last Train, at the Capsule Hotel, A Steamy Night With the Boss", about a woman who has sex with her boss, and "A Night of Lust with a Priest", about a woman who has sex with a Buddhist priest.
Extella Link kinda spoils Extella's ending. You can jump right in if you don't care about the story. Extella is kind of a sequel to an alternative version of Fate/Extra, but you don't need to have played Extra to understand most of Extella, and Extella doesn't really spoil Extra at all.

This is probably the worst show I'm watching this season. Besides the quality of the animation itself in this episode they actually had a horrible, hamfisted subplot about one of the girls suffering child abuse/neglect from her alcoholic parents but of course the quiet girl of the story says 5 sentences to the mother during a parent teacher meeting and someone makes things better and everyone is happy. Holy shit.

Studios like prettifying Japanese scenes (reduce clutter, make it shiny, bright). Would be interested to see studios going for more realistic renderings. It could be more endearing in a way.
First of all, I love all of these.
Second of all, I love the Non Non Biyori one because I forgot there was even a mention of the Tokyo Tower. I need to rewatch that sometime.
