I do agree here, melon gives me hard coasting vibes. I would lynch her today.
I had a good impression about you up to this post.
Can you tell me when this occured? Which games did he play as scum? This, though, I can get behind. D1 is a shitshow for everyone, but OJ hates being scum and has shown it in past games so he bears watching for this flailing show of activity.
Didn't see this until now, the early discussion shut down is still in my mind. So far he seems to lightly pulling some strings and see how things go. I disagree with some positions, but he also has valid points on his side. I think there are more interesting lynchs today than him. And additionally his last few scum appearances make me confident I'd pick up on that with some more time.Gorlak, I see you chasing this thread but let me interrupt for a second and ask you how you feel about Sorian.
I guess you could think that seeing his past performances, but that aggressive Stan is something he hasn't shown in earlier games (at least nothing I could remember of).
What do you mean with babying?
Ah, of course. Asking for more explanation is unnecessary.
Are you referring to LP's vote on Monkey? Can you be more direct?let me put it this way
an inactive player drops a vote on one of the town leaders on d1 which brings it to 3 votes
also im not even sure if turmoils vote is real atm
And this obviously makes it hard to consider him a lynch option at all. I'd refrain here probably, even so melon was suspicious.

You've been a non-entity so far with insecurity oozing from you (#258), I could get behind your lynch.
Noted.I guess you could think that seeing his past performances, but that aggressive Stan is something he hasn't shown in earlier games (at least nothing I could remember of).
While we are at it, I like his contributions as well. I don't think they warrant a town read, but I'd not want to lynch him today.
You made a one-liner observation and I just wanted to hear your actual thoughts on this. Didn't mean to be douchy or anything.I was thinking your attitude was douchy so you got a similar response.
I still have a language barrier I feel. Is it protecting the other because they are weak? Nope. Is it patronizing the other? No? "the act of takling a bit like a young child when being nice" ?As far as the babying, for the second time, rac shades L_P but doesn't actually vote him until I called him out on it. In newer developments, L_P is shading people for voting for rac citing that it's only based on him being the lowest post count (which I don't think is actually true either).
Hey I'm not duh :(I hadn't been following the game at all when I got contacted. Went ahead and read the entire thread before I checked my PM. Thank god I'm not being dropped into a dumpster fire like I thought I was going to be as I read further and further.
Since I'm sure you're all dying to know -
Brazil is duh.
Lean town on Gorlak and Stanley.
Sort of lean town on Monkey, but it's based on one thing whereas her actual posts haven't impressed me as much.
Oliver James - Wasn't a fan of the way he instantly tried to buddy up to Brazil. Really gave me bad vibes. Posts since then have been a mixed bag. Lean scum here and probably is where I'm going to vote.
Turmoil - Post 154 is so bad and reads like flustered scum. Only thing giving me pause is whether scum would let themselves be goaded out this early with a post like that or if they'd just try and quietly sweep it away. Still, lean scum.
Lux - My lightest scum lean. Not a fan of the way he slid into his vote or how defensive he got. Not sure I've ever played with him though. Need a larger sample size.
Everyone else is null for bad/few posts or null because I just am not sure.
melon was one of the players that I was most curious about after a reread, but I guess that's out the window today.
turmoil7 what do you think of this rac-L_P link Sorian brought up?
let me put it this way
an inactive player drops a vote on one of the town leaders on d1 which brings it to 3 votes
also im not even sure if turmoils vote is real atm
I do think it's interesting that those three lynch candidates are now slapping each other while the FEP train seems relatively calm. It's an interesting lead, actually I quite like it.
On other relations, monkey voted rac, LP voted monkey, lots of paths opening before us

When I say babying, I mean they are pulling their punches. Like they want to scum read each other but they aren't going all the way with it. rac says L_P is his vote but then doesn't actually vote him citing a reason that doesn't make much sense. L_P admits that rac is doing something (low posting) but knocks others for pointing it out.
Is there a single thing that OJ has done that you'd point out as a good sign? Because from my vantage point I see some sucking up, followed by defensive posts, followed by defensive posts about the defensive posts.Hey I'm not duh :(
OJ's earlier posts directed at me weren't out of character, and I also think they were too on the nose to be alignment indicative.
I agree that mass claiming is a bad plan, but how often has scum been the ones to push for a mass claim as opposed to town? Or even just a claim in general? I feel like it has been so heavily touted as a scum tell that scum always play cautious in our meta around this topic. I find it more likely something misguided town would do as opposed to scum.I do think it's interesting that those three lynch candidates are now slapping each other while the FEP train seems relatively calm.
Hmm.
I'm not particularly convinced by this argument, but I will say I doubt I'll ever have a good read on either besides "post more ugh" so I'm not against the idea of lynching one, especially if someone I read as more likely town is their competition for the lynch. When I say babying, I mean they are pulling their punches. yes
thinking things through, will give opinions on everything not much fluff if any at allShow me the receipts where Monkey was a town leader. There was plenty of time for votes to change when I made mine. Even now, anything can happen in 3 hours.
I can't say I have. His play in this phase reminds me very strongly of Berserk's D1 (in which he was town), but I'm well aware that that won't be enough to sway anyone. Is there a single thing that OJ has done that you'd point out as a good sign? Because from my vantage point I see some sucking up, followed by defensive posts, followed by defensive posts about the defensive posts.
I don't think I've ever seen scum do or even consider doing that. It's actually one of those things that are so obviously looked down upon in this meta that town would probably overlook an actual scum trying to do it. But the thing is: no one will ever agree to a D1 mass claim, making it an useless risk for scum to take.I agree that mass claiming is a bad plan, but how often has scum been the ones to push for a mass claim as opposed to town? I would very much agree with this - I'm often real iffy on feps but I don't feel like he's a good vote today. The FEP train is easy and silent, and he's actually showing that he's willing to contribute with reads, unlike many others. I'm not voting there.
If you're referring to me (unclear here), I'm not a he.I'm not married to voting FEP, it was more of a pressure vote than anything on my end. I'm not moving off at this moment due to Monkey being number 2. I'm not comfortable lynching him considering how active he is.
Nothing about my vote was about rac having the least amount of posts; it's more about me knowing rac's angsty about being considered not a presence, so I'm surprised to see him literally being not a presence. He's doing more now but I wonder at the motivation.I'm all for waffling, especially when you're close to mylo. But D1 is such a random madhouse it's better to take a hard stance, even if it the wrong stance.
Or you could just pick the guy with the lest posts like rac.
Can you point me to one thing OJ actually did that was geared to move the game forward? So not buddying up to Brazil, talking about non-game things, or defending his play? It could well be townie, but that doesn't make it not defense; in fact there's an argument to be made that seasoned scum might not play such obvious defense. But I'm curious as to where you see offense. You too, mhm? I don't see this defensive play from Oliver. Reading what he posted makes me lean more into townie territory here
Listen, I haven't been lynched since my first game and the idea that I might be lynched d1 with what's transpired so far is hilarious to me. #sorrynotsorry
I think he's only played scum once but he's said numerous times, here and before the move, that he hates playing scum (and even admitted it here in the thread). Can you tell me when this occured? Which games did he play as scum?
Fair on OJ. I'll take it under consideration, but unless he steps it up I'm not going to change my mind on where his alignment falls. D1 is rough and it still feels as good a reason as any.I can't say I have. His play in this phase reminds me very strongly of Berserk's D1 (in which he was town), but I'm well aware that that won't be enough to sway anyone.

So you're not married to the vote, but it's your top scum read. Your second scum read you don't feel like voting. Who exactly would you vote if you had to switch then?I'm not married to voting FEP, it was more of a pressure vote than anything on my end. I'm not moving off at this moment due to Monkey being number 2. I'm not comfortable lynching him considering how active he is.
I love the idea of me being a puppeteer, but anyone who saw my lone game as scum knows I'm not much for corralling (though we did win).I usually find rac a pretty easy read. That I don't in this game makes me uncomfortable but I'm not sure how to weigh it. Was it a slow start and now he's just defeatist? Is it scum? I'm idly wondering if we've got a scum team that isn't communicating well so we're seeing some blowback in the game itself. If we see some of the suspicious folks pick up a bit with the melon/Natiko replacement it might make me feel worse about Natiko, as I can see him kicking a low energy scum team into gear.
Catching up since I'm out of class.
I don't think Sorian has ever not had a (public at least) bad impression of me. I somehow feel like this says nothing of Sorian and everything (very little of it good) about me lolI feel good about Natiko as an aside. He came in more scattered than scum Natiko would have. There is some difference since last time he had a whole night phase to prepare but this game isn't a huge read so kind of a moot point.
So you're not married to the vote, but it's your top scum read. Your second scum read you don't feel like voting. Who exactly would you vote if you had to switch then?
I just now realized you meant Monkey is two as in second place (or I believe tied for first?) in votes, not that she was your second highest scum read. That makes more sense.I haven't posted any reads yet. Monkey is one of my town reads, along with Sorian (for now; that will be up for debate come day 2 as we'll actually have some decent history. He is a good chameleon. ). I don't feel comfortable posting scum reads right now because I don't feel like I have enough information to draw a line in the sand right now. It would end up looking like an active vs inactive list, and that tends to backfire hard.

oh, I missed this, and now Brazil's other remark makes sense. Sorry, am dense.
Isn't it up to all of us? Yes, I have my own issues with him I have to consider, but it's not like I'm alone here.Sorian is well-aware of this uneasiness you feel around him, and I'm pretty sure he piles on that on purpose at least to some degree. But I've only played with Sorian as his teammate before, and so I think it's up to you to look into that and try to figure out if he's trying to pocket you once again.

Fair, though it was a pretty rough spot to sub into lolI thought you were super try hard in HvV, it just didn't matter.
I wasn't wrong :P
I mean, I'm looking. But I think it's mostly up to you. I feel like pocketing is, in most cases, invisible to other players that aren't the actual target.Isn't it up to all of us? Yes, I have my own issues with him I have to consider, but it's not like I'm alone here.
I don't feel like I have enough about him to really work with yet. But I'm not comfortable with the FEP train, and I'm in a perfect position to switch votes around and try to shake things up.
I do too.In a not so unrelated note, I want Lifeline and Sparks in a game together. Really get that blood pumping.
