Tweet and account have been wiped.
Looks like Bandai Namco is helping with development once again, and it seems to have a new rendering engine.
He claims to work in Japan at Nintendo.

Seriously wtf is wrong with him, I mean good for him feeling proud but this was so unprofessional.
I lean towards this thinking. This seems to confirm the game is new, but doesn't confirm the engine is new. He could have developed the engine for use on Smash 4, but then left the company before the beginning of production on Smash Switch.
My bad.
Supposedly he left Bandai Namco and joined Nintendo as a software engineer in august 2016. Dude is totally in trouble for that tweet...Someone look up his Linkedin. What about Metroid Prime 4 and Ridge Racer 8?
If I post a tweet about a game & wipe my account will i get a thread too?
Was Smash 4 engine made by Bandai Namco? This seems to confirm the game is new, but doesn't confirm the engine is new. He could have developed the engine for use on Smash 4, but then left the company before the beginning of production on Smash Switch.
Did you work on an upcoming game that people care about? If so, yes.If I post a tweet about a game & wipe my account will i get a thread too?
Don't worry man, I will make you one!If I post a tweet about a game & wipe my account will i get a thread too?
Yes, Bandai Namco developed Smash 4 under the direction of Sakurai.
If he left BN in August of 2016, that means Smash Switch has been in development for less than two years. Does anyone know how long the total dev cycle on Smash 4 was?
Bit as he says they build it on this engine so it's not like they started from scratch. If he left BN in August of 2016, that means Smash Switch has been in development for less than two years. Does anyone know how long the total dev cycle on Smash 4 was?
~2.5 years. March 2012 - October 2014. Didn't start till Kid Icarus was finished at the beginning of 2012.If he left BN in August of 2016, that means Smash Switch has been in development for less than two years. Does anyone know how long the total dev cycle on Smash 4 was?
