The "secret ending". That's it? Really? Doesn't really add to the lore at all, it's everything we already knew.

Guardian Monkey has me close to dropping this game. The second phase is some bullshit.

Just get the parry timing down and when he flops down on his stomach at that part where you would normally just attack punish him, use the piercing spear to pull out the centipede [the same way you remove armor from enemies with a double tap of the prosthetic use button] and you'll do massive posture damage to him.
Phew... finally beat Guardian Ape. Wasn't as bad as Genichiro, but still a tough fight. Took me a while to figure out a good strategy as it felt like complete random chaos at first.
I've found Nightjar Slash useful too.I just finished Shura ending. Seriously, High Monk and Ichi Double are the only usable combat arts, both being awesome and most importantly FREE. Mortal draw is tricky and dangerous to use, as using emblems deprave you of your prosthetic.
And High Monk obliterates Shura stage one, and can pin Shura's final boss too.
Just arrived at him.
Any tips when hegets the sword?
First part managed to beat in the first try but I consumed all my "Estus"
Wtf, you can crouch the attack? Now this is some hitbox porn.

Run away when you see the red kanji, the scream deals damage and builds up terror, and the other attack is better avoided.
When he comes towards you and dives jump over him and get a few hits. When he starts attacking just focus on deflects and if he does a super long overhead attack parry it and it will bring him down, take advantage of that to hit him or better yet, use the upgraded spear to deal a ton of posture damage.
Other than that just run around looking for those 2 moments, the dive and the combo finishing with overhead attack, learn to avoid and run from the rest
I feel like the hitboxes are just kinda ok. I have been hit/grabbed a number of times where it just didn't make sense I felt. Especially at the last bosses big slice attack move. I have been outside that line of multiple times and pretty far from it and I have still been hit.
i beat phase two a bit differently than most folks - instead of staying back, I got right under him for the scream using the umbrella - even the basic one makes you immune. Then I'd hit him with the umbrella (projected force I think it's called?) and hack away at his legs. The trick is that means you can't use many firecrackers in phase 1.
Haha. The crouch is cool, but it looks like he's just seen a penny on the floor, and happens to dodge the kick accidentally as he picks it up.
The XP you need is the same, it doesn't reset. It increases with each skill point. You get more XP per enemy in NG+. You get additional XP if you refuse the charm.
The charm does make things considerably harder. I found the regular bosses to be OK so far, but random parts of the game like the bull and armor warrior are now just impossible (NG+4). NG+ with the charm is more like a victory run... I kinda recommend that if you're still going for all the endings
I'm confused, I'm on my second play through (NG+) and I received Kuro's Charm. Once I met Kuro for the first time he asked me if I have anything for him and I have the option to give him the charm or keep it, but I kept the charm. By keeping the charm I'm playing on a harder difficulty or harder difficulty activates once you give Kuro the charm?
Farming xp for the all skills trophy is so mind numbingly boring. Ugh, now I'm reminded why I have so few platinums.
Still stuck on Double Headless (I know it's optional).
This is the trashiest, cheapest garbage I've experienced in this game thus far. Some tries I go in and die instantly as soon as I get close, like I haven't even got out of the swimming animation to even get one swing in before I'm insta-dead from the homing crap, and I've tried timing it to get there between attacks, and this is with using a pacifying agent before I go under, saving the purple gourd for when needed. There will be no satisfaction when (if?!) I get past this, just sourness that they made an encounter this cheap and shitty.
It's probably my least favorite system in the game. The rewards besides a couple aren't game changers, it takes forever to get a point, and you lose them so easily if you die a lot. Love the game but they should've really given out those points more freely since the rewards aren't amazing enough to merit the tightfisted-ness. I don't feel the game would be too terribly unbalanced if bosses (and maybe mini-bosses) gave a point per deathblow. Would things really get wild if they just threw around XP especially since you're restricted to only one combat art equipped. Everyone just using ichimonji anyway.

The lone underwater Headless was the first one I fought and I killed it no problem, but this is garbage - how can I avoid an attack coming from an ememy behind me and I can't see what it's doing, and it has homing properties? And when they hit, it insta-kills, even with buffs?Yeah everyone says the underwater ones are easier though I found them tougher, basically because I never got the hang of movement underwater I'd move way past them constantly and struggle to get hits in. With the two headless you only have to kill one.

Hmm it shouldn't instakill you. I know you said you are using pacyfying agent right? I have no intention to come back to Sekiro after getting the platinum and playing all the way through NG++ but, what is thisdouble headless you're all talking about? Didn't know it existed. :O
ButI beat only one underwater headless there, is there a second one? where?

There aren't really two. One is like an illusion. You kill the real one they both die. But there are two headless down there.

After dying to the final boss about 200 times, I farmed EXP for hours to unlock Living Force and...what the hell is that supposed to be? It lasts maybe 4 or 5 seconds and it doesn't help me at all. Alright, back to dying over and over again.
