Is that good? Bad? I don't know how to SalesEra.Looking at steamspy, the game has sold around 15K units so far on Steam.
They shortened his spikes and adjusted the position of the middle spike back in lost world. They ended up keeping the design change both here and in Runners. The only gripe about Sonic (Green-Eyes) is his quills...
He looked PERFECT in Unleashed, but in this game, they got shorter... what gives?
I FINALLY was able to make her!Spring-chan is ready.

Keeping that Sonic Team automated dream alive.

It's not much different from how Sonic Lost World started on Steam, or maybe a little bit better, but not much better.

The only thing I have left to do in this game is get a Cat to Rank 30 and complete the time trials along with some achievements. Geez the trials are really tough...
I am having trouble on the Classic Sonic ones. Still determined to try to 100 percent this one though, I want all the goodies.
IIRC, Sonic Mania hit 100K within 72 hours of its Steam Release.
It's also important to keep in context that Mania was digital only as well.IIRC, Sonic Mania hit 100K within 72 hours of its Steam Release.
As are those Forces numbers. They're from Steam. It's also important to keep in context that Mania was digital only as well.
And that it's half the price of Forces. It's also important to keep in context that Mania was digital only as well.

Right, but with the physical options available on the other three consoles, there is less incentive to buy digitally.
I'm assuming it's related to the Denuvo fuckery? I wouldn't be surprised that a lot of PC sales came from preorders as it seems to have been front loaded, and it had better legs on consoles. And it sold 23k after that... i'm Going to buy Sonic Forces next month, too much stuff to buy this month...
Not so great in Japan but they have that crappy Touhou fighting game at #3 so I guess their tastes are... different.
It's not much different from how Sonic Lost World started on Steam, or maybe a little bit better, but not much better.
To be fair, Touhou is a low price range Doujin game for the fans of the series. Still, had more fun with the game than with Street Fighter V and I'm not the biggest Touhou fan here.
BTT: I was quite surprised the game did not charted on the japanese eShop. Took the game quite some time to peek at the german eShop charts. But yesterday, it charted on rank 9 so I guessSonic Forces starts to catch up with the audience after the huge shitstorm. The overpriced Doom port for the Switch instead is performing in the highest ranks at the german eShop chart. Guess we live in the time again where people can print their own money.
I'm not sure where in the story he'd "have the opportunity" to address the avatar in that way, or how that would affect anything beyond the basic "Believe in yourself, you're awesome, friendship is magic" message for the avatar character, y'know?Anyways, the question that came to mind was should Sega have had Sonic make different remarks with Buddy depending on what kind of animal Buddy is?
And it sold 23k after that... i'm Going to buy Sonic Forces next month, too much stuff to buy this month...

That comparison isn't fair at all, not only Steamspy numbers are very unreliable for recently released games, Mania's pre-order numbers were already being counted by Steamspy before release, unlike Lost World and Forces.Mania suffered hugely on PC due to the surprise DRM situation but it will beat out Lost World with relative ease. One can only assume that Lost World has been getting the majority of its sales through bundles. It actually opened up with just under 4 thousand units in it's first 72 Hours. Of course it came out well after the console release also bombed.

After 2 Years
Lost World Owners: 146,622 ± 11,648
Release date: Nov 2, 2015
Roughly Speaking: After 2 Years (24 Months) Sonic Lost World has sold 142 thousand units over its first 72 hours on the market
After 2.5 Months
Sonic Mania Owners: 134,041 ± 11,137
Release date: Aug 29, 2017
Roughly speaking: After 2.5 Months Mania has sold an additional 40 Thousand Units over it's first 72 Hours on the Market.
So after the initial rush for both games Mania has moved over a quarter of what Lost World total sales in one tenth of the time. Without the Bundled life Lost World has probably enjoyed.
If just look at whole numbers, apples to oranges but I digress, Mania has sold 91% of Lost World total sales in 10% of Lost Worlds time on the Market.
Most sales will probably come from PS4 and Nintendo Switch. My guess is it will sell over 1m+ with all consoles/pc versions combined.
The situation doesn't change if you go by a week. That comparison isn't fair at all, not only Steamspy numbers are very unreliable for recently released games, Mania's pre-order numbers were already being counted by Steamspy before release, unlike Lost World and Forces.
From what I see when checking Steamspy, owner numbers only start being somewhat reliable (or at least reliable enough to be quoted) around a week or so after a game releases, and even then, I think for a comparison like this I would only use week 2 numbers or so, to be sure.
Mania being more successful than Lost World and Forces on PC is undeniable (which is a good thing since Mania is the best game of the 3), I was just saying that comparing day 3 numbers wasn't fair when taking into consideration how unreliable Steamspy is for just released games. The situation doesn't change if you go by a week.
If you look at the image I linked, we have numbers for Lost World listed from release on the 2nd until the 8th and it was lower than the number I was using with my 72hours comparison.
Besides no matter the timeframe, and it's not like Force didn't have preorders tallied on Steam either and it doesn't change this:
"If just look at whole numbers, apples to oranges but I digress, Mania has sold 91% of Lost World total sales in 10% of the time that Lost World has been on Steam."
Without bundles and sales like Lost World has hit over the 2 year period
I might be misreading the room, but are there people in here trying to throw shade on Manias performance to defend the honor of Forces-kun?
Well, of course pre-orders will be counted in the number of owners, that's not what I meant.I mean they largely get counted into the total by the end though.
I'm not sure if even 1 week is enough for a reliable comparison, since Mania was already getting more reliable results at the 1 week mark due to Steamspy already getting owners numbers long before release. The reason that I responded how I did is because I included a word paragraph specifically showing the overall sales between the two regardless of the 72 hour mark.
I'm enjoying this game a whole lot more than whats healthy for a grown up man however I have a small issue that I havent seen anyone else adress:
The game looks surprisingly low res on xbox one x. The in game movies look abit blurry and the anti aliasing seem of. It's noteble on your character in avatar menu:
I have also noticed som jagged effects in game (altho from a distance its looks pretty good) so overall it dosent feel that "clean".
Anyone elese experiencing this?
I think the digital foundry video said that the original xbone version runs at 720p
